"Amazing piece of electronics"
Pros: picture quality, aesthetics, ease of use
Cons: slow TV Guide, sound
Summary: This TV is amazing! Even regular TV looks great! I love using the cable card and getting rid of the extra remote/cable box. Plus I get to use more of the TV features, free up inputs, and use the TV remote for a change. I paid for it, might as well use it! The TV Guide works well enough, but it did take a couple of hours to get it setup the way I want it (I can remove all those stupid home-shopping channels!), and it's a little slow, but it's usable. The cable card is even cheaper than the standard digital cable box, which means it's even more cheaper (depending on cable company) than the HD box. Plus I get a direct coax cable connection, so the picture is a tad better. Naturally the HD stuff is amazing as well! My DVDs even look great thru the S-Video connection. A friend told me that movies on my DVD player/TV combo using S-Video look better than the 37" LCD Aquos Sharp/LG combo using HDMI. I didn't see it for myself, but it's still good news.
The sound on this thing ain't all that great. I notice from channel to channel I might have to mess around with the settings, but I think that has something to do with the cable company as well. At any rate, I use my receiver more often than not, so problem solved!
Also, on a side note, aesthetically speaking, this version is way better than the 42PX50U, not too mention all the extras. Well worth the extra money.
