  • "OUTSTANDING picture, THX mode not anything special."

Pros: Great picture, deep blacks, excellent clarity. Smooth motion.

Cons: THX mode overhyped, green line issue that may be Comcast related.

Summary: Did the research, bought this TV especially bc we have a darker room. We were upgrading from a 30" Sony HDTV CRT, and it simply wows me every time it's on.

Being a big Star Wars dork, I assumed that THX certified (like my Onkyo receiver) meant an instant seal of quality approval. Maybe it does, but on this TV it's just a custom picture setting. No more, no less. It's a bit dark/green for my taste, unless you're watching a historical documentary or WWII movie.

In addition, there is a thin vertical green line at the far right hand corner of the screen in THX picture mode only. After discussing at length with Panasonic, they think it is a problem between our Comcast Motorola HD box and the TV. Maybe a firmware fix, but that's really the only annoyance. We use a custom mode most of the time anyway. Great TV....

Seems to be a only a problem when watching Comcast with a HDMI cable. Haven't tried component video cables. Will update after trying it with a BR player hopefully after Christmas!

Hey John I just got the Panny V10 and I'm getting the green line I'm THX mode as well but only when viewing cable. Do you have Comcast? I think that is the problem cause it didn't do that with a component but it does with the HDMI! Please reply!
