Cons Runs rather warm to hot as compared to an LCD... Old school menu (although it has been updated to a "pretty" interface) menu lacks features, even plugged into 40 MBPS the Amazon video often downgrades and Netflix loads slow.

Summary I bought the television for a theater room I built... I really need to add additional ventilation to the room because the unit does put out some heat. Picture SUPERB ... I cannot say enough about the picture.

Obviously you've read about this because you are researching televisions. Go for plasma if you have a dedicated room or a darker room with little reflective issues i.e., sunlight. Mine isn't bad in light... but some reflective materials found in non plasma televisions are seemingly better. The picture cannot be duplicated. Our tv in the bedroom is the #1 2011 LED LCD and it absolutely annoys the heck out of me trying to get it to look even acceptable if I come to the bedroom after watching tv in the tv room.

Buying... buy ONLY from a dealer who is authorized, one who ships a tv ... I don't like buying a plasma and "taking" it home because they have a glass screen and you shouldn't lay them flat. Amazon ship and sold is great, even have a price guarantee.
