Pros Very Impressive picture. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. Clean lines.
Cons Sound is not very good. But I listen through my home theatre set-up so not an issue for me. This is the reason for my
Re Photo Random view only. Can be fixed via a firmware update? Panasonic, Are You Listenting?
Summary No Doubt the best 54" HDTV for the money (Mine cost $1,099 on Black Friday).
It does have issues as described, so...No, Not Perfect.
I Love mine.
Pros Incredible HD picture. Deep blacks. Make it THX with the THX test on the Finding Nemo DVD! Motion Control still better than 120hz LCD. I'm surprised someone would base their purchase of an HDTV (video) on how it plays slides (photos)?
Cons Audio Speakers could have been a lot better. Surround is worse.
Summary Probably the best Plasma (or LCD) HDTV for the price, especially taking into consideration the size.
Pros Great picture quality (when it worked)
Cons Kicked the bucket a year and a half after purchase.
Summary I have almost changed out every single board in this unit to get it to function. This set should have lasted a LOT longer than a year and a half. If I get it working again, I'm gettiing rid of it. Others say that they've had good luck with theirs. Mine must have been a dud. I got the runaround from their support. One guy I chatted with on their website gave me a phone number to call to order parts. I was directed to a website. When going there and filling out their form, this is the email that I got...

I give up.
Pros I have had this TV for well over a year now. It continues to display brilliant colors, and thanks to tips from the AVS forums, is color tuned to perfection. Black levels, contrary to the editor, remain inky black. Xbox & Blu-ray look great!
Cons Initially video games produces a fuzzy multi-color blur during quick movement. This went away after putting about 50-100 hours on the TV. I think it needed a little breaking in.
Summary I love this TV. I will always go with Plasma and with Panasonic. LCD TVs still can't produce the color, clarity or black levels of this TV. I have logged thousands of hours on this TV now and the black levels remain constant.
Cnet quoted "Testing conducted on 2009 Panasonic plasma TVs, similar to this one, has revealed that black-level performance has become noticeably less impressive within what is typically the first year of ownership."
Bah. What a bunch of garbage.
Pros Easy to set up. Picture quality has been great. Mario Cart Wii blew me away playing with the kids on this size screen.
Cons Don't have any real cons that I didn't know about before buying. There is glare if the sun hits it but that's common on Plasma. Wish this one was Internet capable but again that's another model and more $$$.
Summary This is our first HDTV and have had it for about a year. We've had no problems, the picture is great. We got this as a pre-door buster sale at Sears last year before Thanksgiving. 1 yr. no interest for $999.99. Haven't had any regrets. Netflix on the Wii look and sound great, the Wii games are wonderful as well. We have the unit in a dark room and it's a true family home theater.
