"Great plasma tv" on by drbriancc

    Pros: Amazing color accuracy,

    Cons: Not 1080P capable

Summary: I did extensive research for a 55" to 60" tv, looking at all types (SXRD, LCD, and plasma)Outside of the 50" Pioneer Elite 1080P plasma (smaller than my needs and far more expensive), which I consider the best picture of any tv on the market today, the Panasonic TH-58PX600U is the second best tv I've seen. When calibrated to ISF specs (I found the settings online), the picture is fantastic - totally natural, not overexaggerated colors and brightness as these tvs are often set up in the store or right out of the box. Plasmas have a more "live" look, more punch to their image than DLP or even the quite good SXRD's. I purchased mine from B&H photo, and their service was great. It has been a very reliable and trusted store for years. The lack of 1080P capability is minor, the image is so good it gets to the point of splitting hairs at this point. And the only 1080P content is BluRay or HDDVD discs, as there are no plans for tv broadcasts in sight. I can't imagine anyone finding fault with this set when set up properly.

After Extensive research, Also Concur -- the PX600U (Plasma) series is Excellent, Second Only to The Pioneer Elite Series that generally runs 40-50% Higher Cost; The New Sony XBRs Look the Best of the LCD Option ....
