"Incredible Picture! and a stunning array of color"
on by rubenc78Pros Deep blacks, vibrant color, impressive speakers
Cons Price. Pro settings are geared more for the professional installer
Summary Panasonic has done a very nice job of maintaining a quality product in their flagship plasma line, and the TH58PZ750U does not disappoint. I'm sure a Blue-Ray or HD-DVD player would knock my socks off with the picture quality, but I'm waiting a little while longer before I decide on one. In the meantime, I have a Panasonic up-conversion DVD player to view my DVD library and the picture is still quite good.
HD channels come through impressively on this plasma and are a joy to watch. Standard analog channels are not as bad as I thought they would appear. Previously in older models the analog broadcasts were only best viewed in 4:3 aspect ratio, and appeared "pasty" in resolution. This current 1080p line has made noticeable improvements in handling this dilemma.
Overall the colors are amazing to watch, vibrant but not overly saturated, blacks are rich and deep with plenty of detail. Panasonic recommends a 100 hour break-in period with the picture setting on standard to 0, but once that period is past I set the picture setting to vibrant and have been very pleased with the results. -
"I'm loving it!"
on by rrizPros Great picture quality - HD & SD
Cons Should have more rear HDMI hookups
Summary I'm loving this TV. The standard def and high def picture quality is excellent. I've got my PS3 hooked to it and the 1080P content is unbelievable. I have a 7 speaker surround sound but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the TV sound is. If you thinking about getting this TV I say do it. It's well worth the $. My only beef is there should be more than enough hookups on the back of the TV - 2 rear HDMI's is not enough but you can buy a HDMI splitter if you need to.

"Awesome 1080 picture, but thats about it"
on by farmerjohnnyyPros Excellent Hi-def picture, plenty of input choices
Cons Pricy, poor features, poor analog picture, poor sound
Summary Purchased this TV a few weeks ago and must say I am somewhat dissappointed considering this is a $5000 TV. In 1080i/p the picture is just awesome. But I didnt buy it just to watch Blueray DVD's. The analog and 480p programming is not really good, but part of the problem is probably that the 1080p picture is just 'so' good, anything with less resolution will never look good in comparison. Some advertised features on this TV are just a joke, like the PRO-STUDIO setting for picture control that washes the picture with too little contrast and brightness, the split screen feature which you cannot use with the three HDMI inputs and I still havent figured out how to change the split screen channels, and the aspect ratio choices which with any 4:3 signal gives you either a distorted picture or bars which the manual says could lead to burn-in. So all in all I would not recommend this TV for a full time TV which is what I purchased it for. But in a home theater room with Blueray and 5.1 home theater sound it would be ideal.

"Absolutely superb picture"
on by Bob_FPros Excellent depth, sharpness, colors and very usable features.
Cons I feel that their manual could have had a bit more examples on certain settings but their manual is not that bad though but it could be better.
Summary This Pasnasonic Plasma is proving to be a very reliable product. I have not had any problems with it and if I had to buy it over again, I would gladly buy it over. I am very happy with this product.

"Like it, but not in love"
on by jla1123Pros Good picture
Cons Sound levels vary too much
Summary So this is my first plasma TV and my first HDTV--so I have no idea if my gripes go for all Plasma HDTVs or not. However, if you want good color--you have to keep adjusting it. Pretty much for every show. Then after you are done messing with the colors, you move on to sound. Its like the TV has no internal mechanism to regulate sound--gotta turn it up and down frequently. If you go with surround sound, its not as big of a problem.
