"Good Entry Level 120Hz LCD" on by garvinw
Pros: - Great Price (Paid $1000 at Sams Club)
- Stable and decent features with upgradable BIOS via USB
- Good picture and soundCons: - Missing some of the features that Samsung and Sony have
- Black levels are not as great as higher priced modelsSummary: After doing some research and going back and forth between stores, I finally decided on this model... mostly because I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I wanted a decent TV that wouldn't be a nightmare to deal with. I've had it installed for about 3 months now and using it with a Samsung Blu-Ray player and I have been very pleased with the performance. Very good bang for the buck!

"A Really Good Deal If You Can Find The Lowest Price" on by screamn7
Pros: Digital and analog tuner, 120Hz technology, Many Inputs: HDMI, Component, Composite, USB port for pictures, music and firmware upgrades.
Cons: No VGA or DVI inputs, may heat up a small room, set may cycle itself off unexpectedly.
Summary: So far, being my 1st HDTV, it is very impressive. With the upcoming analog to digital conversion in Feb 2009, this product will continue to perform even when analog signals are discontinued. When it comes to digital tuning this set can receive many digital channels with extraordinary clarity compared with analog channels.
Since i purchased this HDTV as a bundle at Costco online, the blue ray player has not arrived so there is no comment on how it performs. DVD player is very good through this set, and the sound quality is excellent.
The 120Hz technology is impressive on paper, but so far it is difficult with the naked eye to really see its benefit especially with high definition channels. A small amount of heat dissipation is noticed from the screen but would hardly be noticeable in a living room. For use as a PC monitor, conversion is required, whether it be a DVI to HDMI cable, or some other third party conversion system. The set has also cycled itself off at least once or twice with no known cause. If this is in error, hopefully a firmware upgrade will fix this.
I do really like this product, especially the USB port, because it is firmware upgradeable, can be used for displaying pictures (with a zoom feature), even with the ability to play music files. The screen can be viewed from many angles as well with no noticeable glare.

"I found LCD TV to be one of the best that I have seen'" on by rich5559
Pros: The picture quality, sound, and set were easy to setup. Right out of the box it worked perfectly. The picture from my Sony Blue Ray player looks like three D when used with the Philips 42PFL7403D.
Cons: I have not found any cons after using the set for two weeks.
Summary: The price was very reasonable compared to other in the size. I RECOMMEND TO BUY IT IF YOU FIND ONE.

"OUTSTANDING, COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE! VERY HAPPY!" on by hbrake69
Pros: 120hz, HDTV 1080p, 29,000:1 Contrast Ratio, Picture enhancement, Pixel Plus 3 HD, Outstanding Color, Outstanding Clarity on even old non-digital signals - This unit makes all movies even old I Love Lucy ones look Awesome! HDTV looks better than real
Cons: Remote control looks kind of cheap, so I just added to my universal remote control and it looks much better. Rear speakers, cause some shows to need your volume turned up loud.
Summary: I highly recommend this unit. I couldn't be happier with a new HDTV. I looked at the Samsung, Sony, VISIO, JVC, but fell in love with Phiilips. The picture is awesome, it is energy star and I found it at Costco.com for $899 plus shipping and they even increase the warranty to 2 years at no extra cost. I received it in 3 days and now want another one for the bedroom! This makes Television like being at the Movies! I liked the Sony and Samsung, but they are about double the price I paid for this one. This one is 120hz, which is awesome for video games and fast moving movies! I highly recommend this LCD HDTV with 120hz! Thank you Philips!
