"Excellent Picture. Decent Sound. Price Point Perfection." on by MattyFechten
Pros: Very easy set-up. Picture is solid. Probably the best entry level 50" plasma out right now.
Cons: My family have yet to find an arguable beef with this TV.
Summary: Philips was a brand I had not yet fully gotten into. I am a Samsung freak due to the E715 phone--which I might add, could still be available today and kick most entry level (free) phones now even though it's going on 6 years old.
Moving forward, I'm am really happy with this TV. It is my first adventure in HD and I'm enjoying all of it. The most headache came from which cables to buy and what service to go through. That being said, for the price, Philips hit a home run. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend this TV to someone who is looking for a quality name brand at an affordable price. You owe it to yourself to consider Philips. -
"Sleek Design, Beautiful Picture" on by jagolden
Pros: Great picture, nice bells and whistles, easy set-up
Cons: Remote control buttons do not light up
Summary: I shopped heavy for 9 months for plasma/LS before deciding on this plasma. Set up was easy. We only used the automatic set up menu, have not fine-tuned colors or any other settings and the picture and sound are great. We do not subcribe to HD content (though available). Still we are very happy with the picture. Broadcast looks good, purchased DVDs are incredible (regular and progressive scan), DVDs recorded from cable using a $68 CyberHome DVD recorder look great too. Slim housing will fit nicely on wall when we mount.
The remote buttons do not light up, would have been a nice touch. Wal-Mart sells for $1495.00-such a deal. -
"A great media device that makes watching television, movies, and images a genuine pleasure." on by JadedBee
Pros: Easy set up, vivid colors, black blacks
Cons: Screen re-sizing auto-adjust can be a bit irritating and generates a good bit of heat
Summary: Having reviewed what seemed a million different plasmas, lcd, and rear-projection displays, I settled for this on when comparing it to three other non-plasma 1080p/i models in and around the store. It was just that much better of a picture and a buy in the end.

"Great TV for the price...most bang for the buck" on by bigdawg078
Pros: Price....Vivid Color, Weight, Style
Cons: None that I can think of
Summary: This tv is a great deal if you can find one. I purchased mine through Walmart and the shelf price was $1497. After using my brothers associate discount card...I only paid $1386.95. This SAME tv is being listed on Yahoo Shopping and other online retailers for close to $1800 (without shipping).
The brilliant color set this TV apart from the rest. It has brilliant colors, a nice sleek design and is relativly light-weight for a 50-inch set. Although this set his 720p...it looked much better than all the other higher priced and higher clarity sets on display.
I have no complaints whatsoever....I suggest this to anyone who wants a great find for the price.
