"The Best TV EVER MADE!!"
Pros: Deepest blacks ever achieved
Ruler flat greyscale
Near perfect Color points.
Best contrast on the market
UnbeatableCons: Price is a little high
Summary: This is the best TV ever made.
You simply can't do better.
This Tv performs well in just about ever single important categorie. something no other TV can do like this one.
I am looking forward to the Sony XBR8 LCD's and the Samsung 950 LCDs, But I do not expect either of them to perfom like this TV. Mark my words.

Your right. I have been a sony XBR fan since 86, and i had full intentions of buying the XBR8 LCD ( i have the XBR1)...... until I compared the Pioneer side by side (almost side by side), played with the presets, checked angles, etc. I bought the pioneer, hands down, for a few reasons. First, a hockey game came on the satellite, and being a good Canadian I just had to watch. I did not get dizzy watching the incredibly fast action ( I did a teeny bit on the XBR8, and i get sick on my XBR1), and the realism of almost being there was as close as i'd ever seen with todays technology. The realism of the coloring, especially on skin tones is almost spooky. Also, given i have a decent sized home with a small living room, the TV width was a huge factor ( I bought the 50"), and Pioneer has a detachable speakers. I bought the BA Tvee2 to go under the TV. No doubt this is the pinnacle of home viewing enjoyment today, and as they say at the pentagon, "damn the cost, full speed ahead! "
