Pros My strategy in making this purchase: 1. Learn what others regard as important product features 2. Determine family viewing habits and desires 3. Visit show rooms to verify and adjust which features are important to me 4. Compare products and reviews a

Pros The picture quality is un-matched. I had a 46" sony projection, and let me say I did not miss it when I turned this baby on. I was scepticle until I turned it on. I did a lot of research and looked about numerous tv's and this was the mother of them al

Cons I had two dead pixels in the upper right hand corner the first day. Called up best buy and they are exchanging just the tv. That is all I need anyways. I will have the new one in two days from today. Also there is a very tiny high pitch noise the come

Pros Great TV! Awesome Picture, needs only a little tweaking to get best output. Recomend using compontent in-imputs for DVD (you can notice the difference). Lots of different types of imputs. Learning remote (with a bit of tweaking it can even work your digita

Cons Component box does make some noise. It is hardly noticeable unless you are within 5 feet of the box. If your in a normal size room and watching TV with normal volume you cannot hear it.Don't let this bother you, buy this TV!

  • "excellent plasma"

Pros amazing picture quality, especially in HD. DVD's are also very sharp.

Cons Some artifacts on really, really dark scenes. Media converter gets hot.

  • "Seven years and going strong"
    on by 1Norcalman

Pros I bought this TV in late 2003 (for an outrageous price), but seven years later it still performs great. Colors are vibrant, images are still very sharp (especially on channels like Discovery HD), and blacks, though not great, are acceptable.

Cons SD programs don't look real good, but the HD picture remains outstanding.

Summary Our 43" Pioneer has been used extensively over the past seven years, probably on average 4 hours a day. It has been moved three times and no problem. We didn't really expect it to last as long as it has, but we're every bit as happy with it today as the day it was first set up (in fact, we're more happy now because there is so more more HD content). There are better TVs with better pictures now, but we're in no hurry to buy one as long as the Pioneer 4340 HD is still as good as it is.
