"Outstanding HDTV that delivers great colors." on by Conradicle
Pros: black level, color accuracy, style, standard def processing
Cons: sound is very weak
Summary: This set finally delivers the picture quality I have been looking for. The CNET review of the 50" version was very accurate to my 42" version. I used the settings listed in the "Tips and Tricks" on this CNET website and it produces a wonderful picture. Standard broadcast look impressive on this set via my DirecTV, and of course HDTV is great.
The sound on this Samsung is very weak - my 37" Sharp Aquos LCD blows this one away with sound quality. That is the only reason I did not give it a 10. Buy it. -
"The picture is astounding, the price is right, this is a really great television set." on by neutrino15
Pros: Amazing contrast, the colors REALLY pop out of the screen. Yet you can easily adjust that in the options. Don't worry about the 720p, this tv looks better than many of the 1080p sets!
Cons: I don't understand why manufacturers put glossy frames around their TVs.. The internal speakers are also horrid..
Summary: I bought this TV at J&R for $1249 on sale. I really love it and would pay the regular price of $1349 any day. It's stunning picture, robust set of inputs, and standard features make it a great TV.
If you are planning on getting ANY tv, however, do yourself a favor and get a nice sound system to go along with it! -
"A Very Good Buy" on by srikanth_janga
Pros: Cheap, decent size, good looks
Cons: no media card reader and no USB for users

Digital image quality is just mind blowing. I got it for 1199 + tax + 5 year plan for 150 at fry's electronics.

"Good tv right until it broke after 2 Years!!" on by dwojo99
Pros: nice picture, decent sound
Cons: Poor reliability
Summary: TV broke - main board bad - 2 years after we bought it. Never had any damage. Samsung wouldn't cover anything - not even parts even though it's a known problem - search the web on this product before you buy it!!! Samsung - nice picture but pool reliability - avoid it and buy a Panasonic.
