  • "Amazing Picture"
    on by DrChester

Pros Crisp picture, sleek looks, Awesome contrast ratio and HD Display

Cons PIP only works on seperate inputs

Summary This TV is amazingly clear. The HD is incredible. The contrast Ratio makes the difference between it and the Panasonic 42 inch plasma. I hav been shopping around for 3 moniths and finally chose this TV for it's clarity and function. The only downside I see is that the Picture in picture only works for different sources. Cable and DVD for example. I can't watch two games at once which would have been nice. Otherwise this TV is a 10 hands down. I will update with my experience in the next couple of months in case anything has happened to the TV...Bought this at Circuit City for 1400. Well worth it.

  • "Excellent TV"
    on by ruhlz

Pros Picture Quality, Options, 3 HDMI

    Cons Sound is ok

Summary This is an excellent tv. The picture quality is awesome. There are many configuration options. Three HDMI inputs is always a plus. The sound is ok but you can't expect perfect sound from tiny tv speakers. One thing though.... If you are using a Time Warner DVR with HDMI you need to get into the settings of your DVR and change the digital audio out to HDMI. HDMI is only an option if you have the cable plugged in. Once you do that you will get sound. Other than that issue (which is a Time Warner thing anyway) I love this TV! At the store the Samsung had an as good or better picture that any other 42" plasma they had.

    Pros Images Quality,

Cons It's been almost 4 months I got it and I'm still searching for Cons

Summary It took me 6 months of hesitation and verification of every reviews I can find about ALL Plasma TV to finally decide myself to grab my 1st one of those magnificent Plasma TV and I think I choose the perfect one of them all.

I got 3 HDMI entry (one sided panel (practical for easy accessing connection - 2 behind)
    +
42in. wide panel which is clearly enough for my 12' by 16' living room.
    +
    Excellent sound quality included

An excellent product at a very good price compare to the same kind of product from Panasonic Brand.

I think that TV worth the 1800$ CA I paid for.

  • "Click of Death"
    on by sunshinemichelle

    Pros good picture quality

Cons The click of death (see summary)

Summary Samsung has a good rep of making awesome televisions. Love the picture quality, and ease of use. Unfortunately about a year after we purchased it, every once in a while the sound would go out. You would have to turn the TV off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on, and it would be fine. We have had it for almost 4 years now and last week it just randomly shut off, and started making a clicking noise like it was trying to turn back on. The only way to make it stop was to unplug it from the wall. we waited till the next day to try it again, and it came on for about 5 minutes and then once again shut off, and started making the clicking noise. I then looked for help on the Internet. I found a lot on the LCD version of this TV, that it had a bad capacitor, and that Samsung would replace it free of charge. I thought wow! that would be nice! Unfortunately, this TV is not LCD, it is Plasma. When i called Samsung, I was told that Plasma is not covered under the issue (even though it is the exact same issue). I was referred to local stores to have someone come out and repair it. After calling around and getting estimates, it looks like I'm going to be paying anywhere from $300-$500 to have it repaired. I realize the television IS 4 years old, but it should not have a issue like this. You would think since there are so many people with this same issue that Samsung would care a bit more. But they don't.

  • "Don't buy if you want it to last"
    on by Blue-Lobster

Pros Great picture for the price. I really like the TV

Cons I have had TV for 3 years and then the power issue came up. It is a plasma and Samsung told me they have no issues with power supply well guess what me and everyone else can't be wrong. The TV turns on then turns itself off and clicks. Don't buy!

Summary Do not Buy this TV in fact do not buy a Samsung at all. If they can't stand behind their product I will never buy again. I have to now pay to fix the issue as they told me it is only LCD. My TV still looks new and was great. I hate companies that do not stand behind their product. I have sent a complaint to Samsung and guess what no answer yet. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG.
