"Great LCD - Great Picture - Great Definition - Excelent price!" on by arciniegas
Pros: Great picture - Bright - 5000:1 Contrast - 2 HDMI Inputs
Cons: Sound from Integrated speakers is poor.
Summary: Great, great picture. High quality, vivid colors. Great flat LCD for the money...I have seen it for under 2k in a couple of websites. Highly recommed the tv. I am watching the Soccer World Cup feed in HD and the picture is amazing....
Cons:
Surround 5.1 Sound does not seem to work. I connected the cable box to the TV via HDMI, and try to connect the optical output from TV to surround system, but the signal from the tv is not 5.1. I think there is a glitch I am not catching. -
"Great Picture, Easy to Set Up and 2 HDMI Jacks make this a Top Performer" on by REDSC400
Pros: 1080i, 720P, Clear Crisp and Deep Colors...Blacks are Black, 2 HDMI Jacks
Cons: The black bezel can show fingerprints
Summary: This is an easy to set up and use HDTV. The color and vibrancy are wonderful and the unit will auto ajust for ambient light in the room very well. Side angle viewing is super. Color depth is perfect and in 1080i it looks almost 3D. Standard def never looked so swell either.
The sound is great and I am using both HDMI ports, one from the Cable IO DVR and the other from a new Samsung DVD. The wonderful thing about the 4092D is that it "knows" that I have a DVR and Samsung DVD. The controller now controls all. NO more fumbling around for multiple controlers. Great. The DVD picture is breathtaking coming in from the Samsung DVD with the HDMI cable. The sound is great as well. The hard part is to find this TV. Many places list it but try to get one in your hands is another story.
If you are going to use this or any other HDTV with an existing DVD player I would highly suggest that your rethink that IF your current DVD does not have an HDMI output. The dual HDMI inputs on this unit (Sony does not have this feature) allow me to have the best of both worlds. DVDs never looked so good.
I think you will very much like this unit. Mine works swell and it looks magnificent ON and OFF which is a great plus. The energy star rating is good too.Updated
Cheap, clean, easy to use. Super integration with the LN-S4092D. -
"Terrible TV Beware!!!" on by buckaroo1234
Pros: Nice cabinet
Cons: Two different tvs of this model stopped working within ten minutes.
Summary: I fell in love at first sight when viewing the screen...deep and rich colors and nice cabinet. The first tv stopped working within ten minutes of setup.....screen went blank and the power button started flashing. We could never get the tv to work....Samsung people said I had a power management problem. Returned the tv and waited for Another NEW tv to arrive. After setting up the second tv this one stopped working within ten minutes also. This tv would blank out, loose its picture, shut down and then restart only to go through this cycle again and again.
After following instructions to reset the tv it again went through the above mentioned cycle after operating for a few minutes. Two bad tvs in a row!!!!! Honestly, these two tv's didn't operate long enough to even give a review !!!!! If you get this tv I would definitly get an extended warranty. I moved to the Sony KDLV40XBR1. -
"Awesome LCD... simply the best" on by jwrcnet
Pros: 5000 to 1 Dynamic Contrast provides the brightest picture I have seen... even on a Plasma
Cons: Not reviewed by CNET
Summary: I have been researching LCDs for the past two years. When Samsung came out with this model... I knew it was for me.
Side by side comparison to the Sony XBR LCD, who Samsung makes the screen for, makes it clear why this is the best LCD out there.
Discovery Channel HDTV is now my favorite channel. -
"Amazing TV. Nice size, good price, looks sweet." on by wesmain
Pros: High contrast, bright (but dimmable) screen, no ghosting, lots of ports, just awesome
Cons: A second vga port would be nice, not 1080p, costs money.
Summary: I bought this TV a few months ago and I seriously have no complaints. I do have two devices that use the VGA port (xbox 360 & PC), so I have to get up and switch cables from time to time. This is my own fault though, I could easily buy a dvi-to-hdmi cable for the pc but am too lazy/cheap to bother. As to the reviewer that claims to have received two broken TVs, this sounds like user error as the odds of getting two broken units must be infinitesimal. (He mentioned the flashing power button, this generally means you've set the TV to a source that is not in use). My only real worry about this TV is that maybe I should’ve sprung for a 1080p since 720p will become outdated sooner, but that is not an actual shortcoming with the TV. All in all, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. SDTV and HDTV both look great, the xbox looks incredible, and its also a fantastic computer monitor (I use it to watch divx movies all the time). Highly Recommended!!
