CNET Editors' Take

CNET did not review the Samsung LN-T4081F, but we did review a larger model in the series.

Review: Although CNET did not review the 40-inch Samsung LN-T4081F, we did review the 46-inch Samsung LN-T4681F. Judging from their spec sheets, the two Samsung flat-panel LCD HDTVs are essentially identical but for screen size, so we expect the picture quality of the 46-inch model to provide a good indication of how the 40-incher will perform. For more information, check out the full review of the Samsung LN-T4681F. For additional details on Samsung's lineup of higher-end flat-panel LCD TVs, see our roundup.

"Major repair repeats" By oheart

Pros: I'm too ticked off to list any.

Cons: Clicking noises when starting and then just clicking and no start just over a year. Repairman
said there were two different versions of same model; one had this defective part that, when replaced, would malfunction again. A year later it did.

Summary: Samsung manufactured a tv with a defective part. I've had it fixed and now it doesn't work again...same reason.

I will never, again, buy from Samsung!

"Samsung BAD - Very BAD" By jgerlt

Pros: When it worked it worked brilliantly - one year and five months two days and sixteen hours.

Cons: Screen went out - still get the sound - no picture. Never had a TV die in such a short period of time. Finding a service outlet not easy - I live in a rural part of Missouri.

Summary: Shelling out over $2,500.00 for a TV -they should last a little longer and the company behind them should stand by their product weaknesses.
