1. More natural skin color than Sony or Sharp
2. A 6+ hours advanced TV Guide type listing
3. Superior sound quality
4. Changes channels 3-4 times faster than Sony or Sharp
4. Bracket & cord to anchor TV to stand or wall plus a screen dust cloth
1. Warranty discrepancy. Box TV packed in states on both front and back the warranty includes 1 year "In-Home" service, however warranty card in box states 1 year "Carry-In" service. ?

My first 32" LCD HDTV was a Sharp which had very few features, unimpressive picture quality, but the WORSE remote control I have ever seen or used. This unit took an average of 15-20 seconds for picture to appear when turned on. Channel change took average of 4-5 seconds. Have reports from users on cable or satellite, that this Sharp took over 2 hours to scan-lock available channels. I returned unit to store.
Next bought a Sony KDL 32L5000 which was defective out-of-box (program name/description display function didn't work (Sony service said it was a defective board problem.) I would rate Sony's picture quality as Fair, but rather dim at standard factory settings. No visable difference could be seen when changing sharpness adjustment. Sound had very "tinny" quality at all settings. Would rate sound qualityas being Very Poor. (May be better if run through Home-Audio system.)
Receive NEW replacement for above defective Sony, but again it had a "slight: out-of-box defect.. The screen was "cracked" and unit was TOTALLY inoperable.
Sony's quality control has become so bad in recent years and their "offshore" support even worse. Decited to "dump" Sony and look elsewhere.
Found a Samsung LN32B540 at Costco which het most of my needs and had many more features than other brands on display (ie: Sony, Sharp, Visio, Panasonic and a few lesser known names.)
This Samsung has, so far, suprised me with it's excellent picture and sound quality, plus many features most other brands don't have, one being a headphone output.
I was also greatly impressed with the Samsung's tuner sensitivity and channel switching speed. Using my "old" over-the-air, roof mounted analog TV antenna, I could receive the following number of digital channels for makes listed:
- Sharp.........65 (4 channels were marginal and dropped-out repeatedly)
Samsung is not perfect. I do have one "beef" with them, that being their warranty discrepency describe as above, which I am attempting to resolve.
Everything considered, I think it would be hard to find a similar 32: LCD HDTV with better performance.
That;s my 2 cents worth. Thanks for reading.

Some Samsung owners have also reported this same problem with their PLASMA TV's.
Updated on Dec 14, 2009Readers should be aware, there is an error in the above CNet review of the KN23B540 .
In the Specifications listing, it states this model has a "Memory Card Reader - USB Port ". While the unit does have a USB port, it is for "SERVICE ONLY", and not for use by owner/user.
