CNET Editors' Take

CNET did not review the Samsung LN40A650, but we did review a larger model in the series.

Review:

Although CNET did not review the 40-inch Samsung LN40A450, we did review the 52-inch Samsung LN52A650. Judging from their specification sheets, the two Samsung LCD HDTVs are essentially identical but for screen size, so we expect the picture quality of the 52-inch model to provide a good indication of how the 40-inch set will perform. For more information, refer to the full review of the Samsung LN52A650.

Pros Picture Quality (most importantly), the sound is simply amazing and they are just TV speakers, plenty of hook ups in the back, cool weather and sports feed straight from the internet.

Cons The remote's navigaion button is kind of lame, but the on screen options are totally user friendly. I haven't even peeked at the instructions, and I have been a proud owner for months now.

Summary Much like you hear in reviews all the time, I shopped around for an HDTV for years. I would have pulled the trigger sooner, but my wife was in the way :) Luckily for her, because the new model came out and after a few glasses of wine and a tax ... Expand full review
