Samsung LN40A750

Summary: First I'd like to say, look at the lower reviews, not one of those reviews actually comment on the TV itself! they all comment on the customer service. That is not what we are rating here, we are rating the TV.
I had a Samsung LNT-7071F TV for about 6 months and I started having issues with it. I contacted Samsung to try and get it fixed, and I had terrible support from them. I ended up calling 7 times, waiting on the phone for over 10 hours, being transferred to at least 8 different service centers, and never got a repair guy out to my house for a month! So the last time I called I just told them, I was sick of the hassle and I wanted a replacement. So they did an exchange for this TV free of charge! So yes their CS is bad, but that isn't what I'm rating here.

As for the TV. This is one of the best TVs I've ever seen. I calibrated it using online settings and it looks even better then it did when I first received the TV. the colors are crisp and realistic. The contrast is amazing for an LCD TV, and the picture is extremely sharp.
One of the biggest problems of my old TV was the 120hz AMP feature. It stuttered and caused problems. I'm very happy to see that Samsung fixed this issue with this TV. Once in awhile I'll see a very very small stutter but nothing bad. It smooths out the picture very well. I love watching parts of planet earth with the demo feature on to see how it smooths out the image.
One of my favorite things about this TV is how well it processes SD video. Almost every HDTV I've seen is extremely bad at upscaling SD, even my last Samsung which used to be top of the line. This TV is almost identical to an upscaling DVD player. I'm very impressed with how far they've come along with this model over the previous model (71 series)
The contrast! all I have to say is WOW. yes it doesn't compare to Pioneers $5000 plasma, or samsungs new 950 series TV, but for the price of this TV the contrast is amazing, espeically for it not being LED backlit.
The TV is very stylish. The new red "touch of color" (TOC) adds a very nice look to the TV. It isn't too strong either.

Now here are the small problems that I have with the TV.
The stand doesn't swivel. This isn't that big of a problem for me at the moment, but if I ever get a TV stand that isn't as deep then I will have problems since the TV is angled. I loved this feature on the 71 series TV, and I have no clue why they would change it. This probably isn't a problem for most people though.
The buttons on the TV are almost impossible to see and they aren't very sensitive. I often use the buttons on my TV and it almost always takes me 3-5 tries to turn on the TV or change something. Once again this probably isn't a problem for most people since people usually use remotes.
The infamous "halo" effect! yes it is there. The bezel on the TV acts kind of like a fiber optic. It transfers the light from the TV to the outside of the bezel giving it a slight halo effect. this bothers some people a lot, but it doesn't bother me too much. It is very hard to describe what it looks like, and you won't be able to see it in a store since you can only see it in the dark, but it is there.
lastly, the bezel on the TV is completely useless. It adds at least an extra inch to the width and height of the TV and all it is, is a plexi-glass surround that is just there for aesthetics. I'm not a big fan of it, but some people might be. It also makes the TV difficult to carry since it is thin and it always seems like you'll break the plastic.

overall, this TV is great, especially for $1600-$2000. The few problems that I have with this TV are so minor that I debated about even listing them. There really isn't any problems with the picture at all, and that is why we buy a TV. So this is a great TV for anyone.
