"Spctacular image quality! Great Price ($600 BestBuy)"
4.5 starson by cardguyPros: Spectacular image quality (after appropriate set-up). Sound is fine, but with a picture this good you might consider some kind of surround sound. Matte Glass image (YES!) so no unwanted reflections. Far superior to 3 year old Sony Bravia it replaced.
Cons: Picture looked REALLY crappy out of the box. Absolutely go to the web, and use the settings found on the forum. (Blacks will still need to be darker, dynamic contrast should be "low", and perhaps other settings to your own taste.)
Summary: I'm astounded at the progress in TV picture quality over just 3 years. Calibrate / adjust this TV using the best settings found on the web, and then tweak them according to your own eyes and environment. The picture quality is stunning. On the down side, it appears that the settings may have to be redone/re-input for every input option - hdmi 1, hdmi 2, av1, av2, etc. I'm a photographer who looks at images in print and on monitors all day long. I can't say enough good things about this panel. In the recent past you could see that digital TV's were "developing", and "pretty good for digital". With this panel (and probably a number of other brands as well) it feels like we've entered a fairly mature phase of the technology where the new TV's far outstrips anything and everything that existed before.

Thanks for the good advice. This set is still available and prices are dropping. Blacks and dark colors on Best Buy's wall are better than the newer LED LCD below it.
