"Very nice answer to the 71 series."
Pros: The 120hz processor is supremely smoother than the jittery and artifacting 71's, 4ms response/refresh rate, 50,000:1 contrast and the super clear panel makes blacks and reds look vibrant and radiant.
Cons: No subwoofers in rear panel to help thicken voices and music, miss the touch sensitive on/off switch. Slight glare issues.
Summary: Overall, The LNA650 series has wow'ed me to the 'nth degree. I was a fan of the 71 series and was conflicted with admitting to my dislike with the artifacting and over processed look of the 120hz in "HIGH" mode, but otherwise, was ok with it. The depth of color and motion was more than enough to gain my respect.
The overall look of the 650's is so far off the beaten path that it becomes a subtle work of art even WITHOUT the set being powered on! The new touch of color on the bezel brings a curious warmth to the "feel" of the set, allowing various levels of decor to be invited in.
Now, the panel. Wow. I love the level of black it can acheive. The richness and crispness of the colors make it feel like you are looking out a window, rather than watching a digital t.v. The game mode in the menu takes gaming to a whole new level.
Bravo, Samsung, on a home run of an LCD panel.

Touch sensitive "on-off" button as well as volume "up-down" and a couple of other basic controls are on the lower right-hand front of the frame. They are not backlit, so that they are "hidden" when not touched and don't interfere with viewing. The fantastic picture takes away any glare issues in my opinion.

According to your review, you say that Samsung has improved considerably over last year. I was a little concerned, since the early days of the A650 were plagued by bugs in the Auto Motion Plus/120Hz mode, and that annoying bug that caused the TV to turn itself off and turn itself back on at random times. From what I hear, Samsung listened, and fixed those issues. Now I'm beginning to feel far more confident in Samsung than ever before. Thanks for restoring my confidence in this set.
