Samsung LN46C550

Pros: Samsung LCD's have great picture quality when you compare them side by side in a store. This tv has plenty of easily accessible inputs on the side and back. We had great usability in connecting to a Comcast HD cable box and a Samsung BD player.

Cons: This tv has problems after the 1 year warranty is up. I did not find any on the web when I was looking for reviews on this model but now I see them everywhere. Our problem does not seem to be as bad as some but it will require us to get service.

Summary: I have never been one to get extended warranties on any products but if you are going to buy this tv you have to get one. It will fail after the warranty runs out. Our tv is automatically turning off, the volume goes up on its own, the source mode changes intermittently and the menu will just come up as you are watching tv. It is probably going to cost us a few hundred dollars to fix if I read others reviews on the net. I think they purposefully make models such as this to fail after the warranty is up. Get another tv but don't get this one. You have been warned.
