CNET Editors' Take

CNET did not review the Samsung LN52A550, but we did review a smaller model in the series.

Review:

Although CNET did not review the 52-inch Samsung LN52A550 we did review the 46-inch Samsung LN46A550. Judging from their specification sheets the two Samsung flat-panel LCDs are basically identical but for screen size, so we expect the review of the 46-inch model to give a good indication of how the 52-inch model will perform. For more information, refer to the full review of the Samsung LN46A550.

"Stay away." By klairskloset

Pros: Beautiful. Great picture. Works well for about a year or two.

Cons: Well known powercycling problem. TVs known to break within a few years. Samsung is not accepting responsibilty for their faulty product.

Summary: I just purchased this factory refurbished Samsung 52 inch TV. It didn't work from day one. After half an hour it clicks on and off. This powercycling is a well-known problem. A quick search with turn up thousands of complaints about this issue. Most reviews of the product are ... Expand full review
