Pros: Price! Picture quality! and mordern looking!

Summary: I have searched more than two months to buy a right tv for me, and finally I came into this samsung's 5 series one.
1. Price. I paid $1800.00 for everything including tax and shipping. For 2008 major brand 52" TV, I think this is the best price in the current market.
2. It has almost every high tech of today.
1080P, 3 HDMI 1.3bi, 5ms response time, and package of samsung's recent tech. the only different of this one and samsung's 6 series(higher end model) is the 120Hz tech. but since the 120Hz tech developed last year and still need improvement, I don't need it and I could not pay 500 buck more for the imperfect thing.
3. I think 52" is the standard now. 46" or 42" is too small to enjoy home theater. Of course Major brand like Sony, Samsung and LG decided produce 55" as their main line but should be much expensive than this one.
Again, for the price!!! this one is outstanding!!
4. the built in sound is not that good but if youre interested in this size tv, you must be interested in home theater system too. so I think it is not a serious problem. -

Pros: Picture quality superb; Low reflection screen (unlike higher end 650 & 750 models); Relatively inexpensive
Cons: Poor out-of-the-box sound quality
Summary: I did a lot of research before purchasing the Samsung LN-52A550. I decided to go with this product mostly because of the breadth of features for the relatively low price. I am definitely not disappointed!
The picture looks great. The colors are vivid. The image is sharp. The blacks rival some plasmas that I looked at.
The sound... well, the factory settings are sub-par. With a little tweaking the sound quality can be improved to adequate. This is the only thing that kept me from giving the LN-52A550 a 10. If you have a home theater system that uses an A/V receiver, then this isn't really an issue.
The Samsung LN-52A550 doesn't run on 120Hz, but I don't really miss it with the 5ms response time (compared to 8ms from last year's model and its just 1 ms slower than the next step up 650 model).
It's by far the best flat panel LCD you can buy for the price. -

Only 60hzSummary: This was my first LCD TV purchase and not my last. Samsung is the leader in LCD technology for a reason and this TV does not disappoint.
The picture is excellent and will leave you breathless at times. You know those news anchors you have been looking at for years aren't as pretty in HD.
The only reason I did not step up and purchase the 650 series was price. Equal picture quality in both but the 120hz feature will give you great response time is you like high action sport viewing. (Racing:boat, automobile or motorcycle) $500 more for the 650????? For me, not enough of a difference.
Take it from me, you will not be upset with your purchase at all. Just make sure you give yourself the luxury of a 6.1 or 7.1 Dolby stereo surround sound system to experience the true high def benefits. -

Pros: BLU RAY PICTURE IS INSANE! CABLE HD IS AWESOME BUT MY COMPUTER LOOKS THE BALLS WITH A 52" MONITOR! THIS TV HOOKS UP TO EVRYTHING SO EASY. ALMOST CAN'T BELIEVE IT.
Cons: SOUND- IF YOU DONT HAVE HOME THEATER GET IT FOR THIS TV . SOUND IS ONLY OK, FOR NEWS AND STUFF.
Summary: LOVE IT WISH I HAD THREE!

Cons: So so SD picture,Sound could be better.
Summary: The picture with hd sources is beautiful. Menu is very easy to use with every setting you could ever want to tweak picture.Hard to find a tv with great picture,features and 52 inch screen at a reasonable price like this. Sound is weakest point and that can be tweaked too. I've had this tv over 2 months no problems so far.Check this tv out you won't be dissappointed!
