    "Stunning Display" on by hummergirly

Pros: Brightly-lit west facing room does not produce onscreen glare as the 650. Esthetically pleasing to look at - on or off. I like the TOC (touch of color) which is not noticeable if you don't know about it. Picture quality is excellent in HD.

Cons: Sound suffers, though remedied with a BOSE sound system with subwoofer. Had to buy additional cables for the 120hz. Directv installed a second line from the dish for the DVD-R.

Summary: Bought this tv, a Samsung Bluray Disc Player, Directv HD DVD-R, Bose surround sound and stand. Extravagant purchase all together. I did ask for and got a price break off the total at Circuit City. Comparison shopped other 'S' brand tvs. This was the best choice in amenable features - 120hz, 1080 i and p, TOC and 52 inches. Easy set up. I didn't watch much tv before this. For an impulse purchase, it is worth every penny!

"Excellent Alternative To The Glossy 6/7/8 Series" on by DaveOCP

Pros: The LN52A630 has the sleek 750 style cabinet, not the cheesy 650 design with its giant red stripes. The semi-matte screen hugely reduces light reflections compared to the 650/750/850.

Cons: Total of only three HDMI inputs, reduced maximum contrast compared to the glossy versions.

Summary: I was originally planning to purchase the 52" 550 series, but I was worried that I would get stuck with a poor quality "A" or "C" panel. The 630 gives you the semi-matte finish of the 550 series, with the better quality 120hz panel from the higher end glossy models. If you watch everything in the dark get a 750, but if you have windows or lights on go with the 630.

I compared the 630 to the Sony XBR4 and XBR6, and the Samsung definitely looks better. It also doesn't suffer from the Sony's annoying black level flickering.

"Best TV I've ever owned." on by lyondw

Pros: Picture quality is excellent. Features are extensive and easy to use. HD is one of the best on the market and standard def is very good. Couldn't be happier since I bought this TV below $2,000.

Cons: Can't get my Comcast remote to work the volume correctly. Have searched the internet without a solution so far.

Summary: I have a 46" Samsung and a Sony 46" XBR2. This one is better, although I understand the technology is a couple of years newer.

"Hopefully the next one will work?" on by 350Industrial

Pros: What great packaging- out of the box in less than a minute via the two clips near the bottom of the box.

Beautiful picture- while I was able to see it.

Very nice case design- understated classy.

Cons: Wouldn't stay on- I'm chalking this up to bad luck. After all, I waited 5 years for a set like this, what's another week or so? Other than this, everything else exceeded expectations.

Summary: After months of research, and doing my part to stimulate the economy, I ordered the LN52A630 for the picture quality and value, and over the 650 for the matte screen.

Ordered from french 'frys' online, as they had an amazing one day sale. Amazingly fast (free) shipping- ordered Thursday 7pm, arrived Tuesday, 10am- wow. Everything was ready, HD cable box, cabling, etc- plugged it in and was very happy with the picture.

After 5 min, TV shut itself off. huh? Powered back on after several minutes (by itself) so I chalked it up to a fluke and changed to an HD channel- superb picture, everything I hoping for. 5 more minutes or so and screen turned completely green with lost of screen noise and an ear-piercing screech that nearly blew the internal speakers. TV would not turn off- had to unplug from wall. Left it unplugged to reset it, back on and in minutes the same result. Changed sources (co-ax direct from wall now- a different outlet even) and same result. Tried a DVD played via component cables- same thing.

Immediately called french frys- they were good: offered to ship another one immediately (of course I had to pay for it again until they received the defective one back for a credit.) The new one is now in transit to me. Concurrently, called Samsung to see if any over-the-phone support would help- after explaining my experience to the technician he said I already tried everything he would have told me to try. They said all they could do is schedule someone to come out to look at it (2 days later and not even a call from the service dept.)

So, I'm hoping the new unit will be fine. Really hoping that is, because the picture was gorgeous for the amount of time I was able to see it. I saw a minute or two of an HD hockey game- incredible. Can't wait to get the set and hook it up to my new blu-ray system.

Esthetically, while off, this TV is very nice. It will fit into any decor. TOC is not noticeable. Very very understated classy case design. Stand seemed sturdy, although my wall mount from monoprice should arrive today. I think I'll use the defective set to figure how/where to place the wall mount for now :)

UPDATE- received the replacement yesterday and everything works fine. Looks like I just got a bad set originally. The picture is superb. HD channels look fantastic, standard def looks ok. I'd give it a 9 out of 10, for the only flaw I've found is that the off-angle picture degrades (washes out) quicker than I would have expected. No problems here though as I have a fully articulating wall mount.

    "Amazing TV" on by aasser123

Pros: Perfect HD picture and colors. No glossy reflection.

Cons: Sound not perfect, but that's what a surround sound system is for. My Onkyo makes it amazing.

Summary: Get this device you will not be disappointed, especially if you can get it for less than $1800 like I did.
