Pros Outstanding picture quality. Very realistic picture with great colour reproduction and black levels with life like images. Huge TV that looks nice in any room. Easy menu with tons of options. Oh ya...Picture, Picture, Picture. A must see tv !
Cons Screen might have too much glare for some people. But still worth it .
Summary I've had this tv for a month now and I can honestly say WOW! The LN60c630 has the ultra clear planel not the matte screen as mentioned by CNET. Movies are amazing in blue ray. You definitely feel like your in the movie. Very life like images almost feel 3D. Colour and black levels are above standard imo. Brightness doesn't seem to be a problem even in a pitch black room. This tv gives an even picture from edge to edge with no major light blooms. This unit has a ton of options and adjustments so any small or finiky problems should be able to be corrected easily. As for viewing angles I have no problems but my room is not that wide so I can't give an accurate comment. I did have a lip sync issue which I have now fixed and was easy to do.
I was compairing this unit to the un55c6300 LED model and found them to have the same life like picture quality with maybe the blacks being only slightly better on the LED model but not enough of a difference to make me want to pay more for LED. Both sets had crazy picture quality. The "60 version of the LED was $600 more than the LCD tv I bought so it was a no brainer. I was also looking at the New Sharp LED Quatro but still felt these TVs offered a better picture quality with a smoother cleaner image. The sharp was nice but seemed more grainy.
My new Tv makes me want to watch TV... I'm normally too busy to watch a lot of TV but I find myself wanting to watch more because of this tv. Hockey, football , basball all look great on this Samsung TV to the point that you feel like you are in the crowd. And as mentioned before.... the Blue Ray picture is without a doubt the best I've seen to date. NOt bad for a mid line TV.
Overall I highly recommend this tv. Look around and judge for yourself. I think you'll find this tv the best bang for your buck inregards to size and picture quality.
Pros Lots of available adjustments, nice picture, sleek design
Cons Bright spots @ corners, remote control menu adjustment buttons too close together (especially the OK button). Too many adjustments.
Summary I got this TV as a replacement for the 58" Samsung Plasma PN58C590, which was making a buzzing noise right out of the box. It took more tweeking to the LCD out of the box than the Plasma, but overall the picture looks good. I did all my research on plasma vs lcd & decided on plasma. But the buzz issue made me decide to change to LCD, plus the sales guy did a stright swap, so the 60" cost about $1400.
Bottom line it's a great TV for an "entry" level 60" LCD, especially if you don't care about wi-fi, network/internet/3D
Pros Super picture, super size at a reasonable price
Cons Glossy screen picks up a lot of reflection
Summary We looked at a number of LCD and LED/LCD, and none of the sets picture quality compared to this one. If you don't want 3D, but want a BIG screen with a great picture....this is the TV to get.
Pros Excellent picture for News and Documentaries
Cons Horrible, foggy SD channel performance with no possibility of correction through tuning. 120HZ runs no matter what options you have turned off. All movies look like amaterur home movies because of artificial 120HZ frame rate.
Summary Listed problems are not specific to Samsung or this model. Never again will I buy any idiotic HDTVs until manufacturers include proper "Movie" mode that would allow for movies to look "normal" and not like cheap sitcoms. Also SD channels never looked that bad. Considering that 50%+ of TV channles are still SD this TV is useless irritation. It is only suitable if you only watch HD programming and watch Blu-ray movies , because everything else will look like garbage.Glossy screen (like on cheap Laptops) reflects everything in light or dark room. Dark scenes look bad, no detail just black spots. Lately TV started fluctuate the contrast by itself . It took me an hour to find that feature and turn it off. While watching DVDs black frame oscillates. Poor remote design ,needs to be pointed at transmitter precisely else it does not work. Prominent light bleeding in the corners of the screen. Buggy Netflix app .
