"A fantastic Plasma for those unwilling to pay for 1080p!"
Pros: Excellent picture, deep blacks, good price point, variety of input jacks, easy menu navigation.
Cons: Screen can be too reflective in bright rooms, speakers could be louder.
Summary: After slowly saving up for over a year, I finally settled on this Samsung plasma. Right out of the box, this set's picture quality is stunning. I actually forgot for a few hours that I still needed to calibrate the picture!
In the store, I could hardly tell the difference side-by-side between 720p and 1080p and couldn't justify spending another $500 to $700 for it. This one's quality stood out for me. Watching Blu-Rays and gaming on my PS3 are fantastic on this set.
The only reason this TV doesn't get a perfect ten are the cons I listed above. The screen is still mildly reflective in my living room, but that is remedied by pulling the shades. The speakers are on the quieter side so if you want to turn the volume up, you really turn it up.
I've had my eye on Samsung for the last year or so. I've read reviews here and elsewhere such as Consumer Reports and Samsung consistently comes out near the top -if not ON top! I'm a very happy customer.
