"Great Product, Can't Wait for CNET Calibration!"

Pros

Very thin. I got this TV a couple weeks earlier than retail due to an exchange through Samsung. Seems like this TV is an almost exact copy of the 2009 PN58B860 which is what I had replaced. Black levels are great, better than my previous 860.

Cons

Front Panel buttons are near impossible to find in low light situations, funny how this is the case almost every time I'm watching the thing. Fairly noticeable buzzing sound, more noticeable during darker scenes (supposed to diminish with time).

Summary

The only difference I can tell between this TV and the 2010 7/8 series is the lack of 3D, big whoop.

Specifications on this beast are still unknown, nothing on the box or in the manual. Oh well.

The only difference I can tell between this TV and the 2010 7/8 series is the lack of 3D, big whoop.

Specifications on this beast are still unknown, nothing on the box or in the manual. Oh well.

One other thing I noticed, there is no Game Mode on this display. Haven't noticed any major latency, but I haven't done too much hardcore gaming on this thing yet. (Halo Reach Beta in one week!!!)

There could be more analog inputs, can only use either component or composite at any given time. This means I can't hook up my Wii and N64 at the same time!

Final Thoughts:

- I can't wait for the CNET official review of this beast so that I can steal their calibration.

- I realize I am one of the first in the country to get this display, if anyone has any questions whatsoever, let me know.

"back stepping of samsung ?"

Pros

its good picture on screen, good contrast at dinamic with high eco mode, sound is also good, its , under 4 cm thickness

Cons

first of all, what is 600 hz of refresh rate, they claim its 100 hz panel , but at the back of manual its written 60 hz with full HD resolution, also there is no 100 hz demo and cinema smooth in menus .

I bought this nearly one month ago, first of all, what is 600 hz of refresh rate, they claim its 100 hz panel , but at the back of manual its written 60 hz with full HD resolution BUT when you read manuel from net you cant read this because its not written , also there is no 100 hz demo and cinema smooth in menus ( unlike my first plasma ps50b650 ), you cant read banners at the bottom of tv (unlike pb650) so I think its a 50 hz plasma. Also some logical errors have menus such as if you want to listen from usb you cant get picture off menu and electric consumption going mucher .The worst is remote control, you cant feel buttons because of all of them at the same dimension and at the same height (unlike pb650) so you have to look at remote everytime when you have to push buttons, its important when you like to watch movies at dark. ?t has a useless light fuction of remote becuse you have to push one button to activate light so it has a logical error and its irritating when you watch movies from usb or digital satellite , because picture immediately went off and you can encounter another source. its good you can hear dts sound from digital out to your receiver also its written contrast to its manuel, I remember my first buying chinese stuff 10 years ago, and shocking its manuel not true. Cant cnet review this tv ???

Pros

gorgeous design, great picture (for 4 months)

Cons

problems at 4 months 5 inch thick horizontal red bar, Samsung lack of warranty consideration and sidestepping warranty obligations for "unrelated" image retention on outer edge

Great TV initially, would not buy again due to systemic problems with company and warranty coverage. 4-5 months old, neutral settings, 10 minute visit by samsung tech with an explanation that my problem (5 inch thick sparkly pinkish horizontal full length line) has to be image burn because I have shadows on the edge of my screen from icons and bars??? and of course samsung cust support takes that as gospel, and wants you to have the same person come out and "re-evaluate" (under the premise of not getting paid if samsung looks at monitor and deems it is screen burn). If you are a Samsung certified tech or company, do you want to pay for that screen when samsung refuses to pay you? see the circle? Avoid the circle.
