Pros Picture quality, size, and price. Awesome color.
Cons Samsung plasmas don't properly process 24fps video without 3:2 pull down, but that is why I did not spend the extra money for the c590.
Summary I have had a Hitachi 50" rear projection lcd set that has served me well for the past 4 1/2 years (never even had to replace the lamp). I have been looking at new flat screen TV's for quite while. At first I was sold on LCD due to no real issues with burn in or image retention. I never really paid enough attention to see if there was a difference in PQ with plasma. Then when plasma prices dropped significantly about a year ago I picked up the cheapest 42" Panasonic Plasma I could find for our family room. I was amazed by how good the plasma picture looked. Very fluid and natural. This really made me want to get a larger plasma to replace my old Hitachi for home theater use, and I was initially leaning toward Panasonic because of my experience at home. The professional reviews seemed to give the nod to Panasonic as well. My friend had purchased a Panasonic 58v10 and it is very nice and only wetted my appetite even more. When viewing TV's in the store I always thought that the Samsungs had nicer color. Especially when comparing the lower level models Samsung 5 series vs. Panasonic S series. I was't really wanting to spend the money on the Panny V series as I was looking at the Samsung 63 " and Panny 65" TVs and wanted to stay around $2,500 or less. I has been very hard to find good reviews on the lower level Samsungs on line, but I trusted what I was able to see in the store and confirm later by digging deeper into on-line forums. I believe that the Panasonics do have better black levels (at least initially), but the black levels and shadow detail on this Samsung is very good as well and the color is excellent. Able to keep a natural tone to skin while still able to make more vibrant colors pop! Much more so than I was able to see in a Panny S series (they always seem to have a green tint). I have watched a number of scenes from familiar movies and it has been awesome and addicting. I am know videophile, but I am able to recognize a good picture when I see one. Is this as nice as my firend's Panny 58v10, probably not, but I would have to see them side by side to notice the difference and screen size was more important to me than what that difference would be.

Cons Sound isn't perfect
Summary Beautiful picture.... We've had this TV for over a year & no complaints. Obviously the sound is not perfect, but is much better than I expected. Add a soundbar & you have an excellent set-up.
Pros Huge panel, incredible picture
Cons Mediocre sound, no internet options
Summary If you are looking for a large plasma display for little money this is recommended. We first purchased a 60 inch Sony LED but just did not like the LED color. LEDs to me seem to have a brighter and to me a washed out picture. The plasma definetely has more contrast and deeper, richer colors. This Samsung 63 inch plasma looks great. It does not have any internet apps, but that can be had through a blue ray player. We have only view HD Directv and have no complaints. We purchase for about $2200 from HHGregg. I'll bet it can be had for less than $2000 after the holidays.
