"Amazing TV, slim, great quality, but poor led" on by fuzailt
Pros: The slim design is amazing especially since its an eco-friendly tv. Picture quality is really good, contrast and colours are very nice. Dejuddering process is amazing.
Cons: Downside is that the tv has alot of blooming in dark scenes. Black levels are not as good due to that. Heavy price point for a 40". The side-lit LED takes away from the traditional back lit advantage of having better blacks and good contrast.
Summary: If you don't have enough room and like the aesthetics. this TV is for you. You lose a little bit on the picture quality because of that. I would reccomend the samsung LNXXA950 over this tv if size and design don't matter as much. The 7000 and 8000 should be similar. The 7000 only has wireless internet advantage while 8000 has the 240Hz and 2ms response time with wireless. The side lit LED feature looks like a more advanced version of Sharp's OPC feature.
I also work at Best Buy Canada.
I bought the TV and returned it b/c I did not like the blooming effect of light during dark scenes in The Dark Knight.

"Nearly Perfect LCD" on by halligan1201
Pros: Outstanding picture quality for LCD screen, ability to make very precise adjustments to picture
Cons: Poor sound quality
Summary: I purchased this television as an upgrade to a first generation Panasonic LCD,mainly to benefit from the dejudder and motion controls.Picture quality once adjusted using CNETs test settings and then fine tuned for my living room and preferences is outstanding, far superior to the 50' Samsung plasma I own. Before making adjustments, did notice soom blooming issues, but is not a problem since.II have not had any problems with blacks appearing blue, but I do take the time to really adjust my picture settings for the environment the tv will be viewed in.If you do not make adjustments, the dejudder process will make movies seem a bit strange, almost like watching a video of a stage play.Sound quality is poor considering the price point, but I imagine Samsung assumes most owners will be hooking into a theater system of some kind.I have mine hooked to a sound bar,and that vastly improves the sound. The televisions sound settings and adjustments themselves, although numerous, seem to have little impact on quality or output.Overall, an outstanding television that I cant recommend enough, especially if you can buy it now at a deep discount because the 2010 models are out like I did.

"Loving it!" on by fheeman
Pros: The picture looks fantastic. Easy to set up. Thin.
Cons: Biggest gripe is it cannot pass through 5.1 sound from a Blu-ray through it's optical out . It only delivers 5.1 sound from digital TV (my receiver only has 1 optical input).
Side viewing isn't great, but not too bad.Summary: Getting this TV (Nov. 2009) was actually my wife's idea, b/c she said she could tell a difference, which is a first for her! We've been very happy with it!

"Perfect TV for the bedroom wall." on by silvershox
Pros: -Sleek & sexy design. Even better on the wall.
-Easy menu navigation
-Straighforward button placement on remote
-excellent picture and color/blacks
-dejutter works great
-the light below the bezel can be used as a nightlight :)Cons: -uneven backlight on dark scenes
-backlight fluctuates on occasion in dark scenes(if settings are default)
-sound is good for the bedroom, but would not fill a large room without distortion/buzzSummary: I was in the market for a TV:
-under 42 inches
-under 1500
-lcd or led
name brand
I was first looking at the samsung ln32b460 for a while when that was on sale at bestbuy for 484, but something told me to keep looking. I was lucky to catch it on sale for 1249 with the samsung wallmount for this specific model (250 dollars retail), so I hopped right on it. I have had this TV for about a month now, and I am very satisfied. I dont need the best quality sound since I moved into an apartment and I didnt want to bother neighbors with a sound system. Regardless, it was for my bedroom anyways. The tv is perfect in terms of size. it mounts insanely close to the wall, and the depth is very important to me in this way. My TV is on the entrance side wall, as my bed faces it from the opposing wall. that means I have to have a decent amount of walkway space infront of the bed to pass across the other side of the room. Any other similarly sized lcd would have stuck out aproximately 4-6 inches away from the wall, however, this led tv is about 1 1/2 inches away from the wall. I dont have to worry anyone knocking it over by accident if someone wants to cut across the room.
The Picture is wonderful. That's that. The backlighting however, is a little annoying at first, however. you need to tweak the settings a bit before you don't experience any fluctuation. Also, uniformity isn't great but it's not that big of a deal.
The sound is just right for an apartment bedroom, but barely passable for a living room.
Thats basically it. It's a solid TV.
