"Nice picture but awful, awful backlight bleeding..." on by pdiddy95
Pros: Excellent picture quality during daytime viewing - good SD viewing also
Nice slim design
Connectivity including wireless to router via dongle is niceCons: Backlight bleed (clouding) from edge LED system is shockingly bad
Summary: If you enjoy movies with dark ambient settings, you will see terrible backlight bleeding and clouding. Brought my 1st unit back and the replacement was as bad if not worse - an inherrent fault with the edge LED backlight by all accounts - if you're picky about your screen uniformity - DO NOT BUY
Overall picture quality during daytime viewing is excellent and picture setting controls are extensive if somewhat fiddely -
"So far so good !!!" on by PianoSteve
Pros: The picture is outstanding .... every time I watch it I can't believe I have such a great picture. I have not seen any of the flaws I've read about on various forums. The TV as a piece of furniture looks great and I love the fact that it swivels.
Cons: The only drawback is that the sound is quite mediocre. I haven't compared it to the sound of other LCD's - but compared to my 15 yr old Sonly XBR, the sound is quite worse. I'm going to always go thru a sound systems so its not a dealbreaker for me.
Summary: I wanted a 40 inch TV and it was a toss-up between the Samsung LN40B750 and the UN40B7000. I chose the UN40B7000 because the picture just looked better to me in the store. So far I am very happy with my choice.
Update - Since I've had the TV I have noticed that the corners are darkened (with a smudged look) when the background of the picture is a light color. I have found this to be very annoying. I called Samsung - they are sending a tech over on Monday - we'll see what happens.

"3D like quality" on by electronicjunky
Pros: Rich preloaded media content. Ability to do MKV, WMA almost all video format, Photos and music playback.Good 5.1 sound system with built in sub-woofer in this 1.3 inch think screen.Plenty of HDMI, 2USBs and easy to setup(provided that you can read.)
Cons: The startup music is a little too loud, I still try to figure out how to turn it off. No S-VHS adapter, not enough power to support two western digital 500GB passport hd, can't paly back RMVB or Quicktime clips.
Summary: I am a first time Samsung's electronic buyer. I am very please with the overall outcome right out of the box. The installation was easy if you know how to read instruction. Other than that, this LED or (some called it "still an LCD" TV) is truly a technology marvel with only 1.2 inch thin, rich media content playback and bright color resolution in almost any lightning condition. For the media content playback and bright color resolution in almost every lightning condition. The ineternet and media capability is amazing not only that it is user friendly, it has many preloaded widgets for Yahoo, Flickr, Youtube, News, Finance..etc. Best of all it uses less energy and no mercury.

"Just Bought It." on by BrdsReview
Pros: So Far So Good.
Cons: Amazon Video On Demand Not Available but its advertised
Summary: Spent the better part of an hour searching attempting to load the Amazon VOD Widget, as directed in the manual only to find out after e-mailing Samsung that Amazon is temporarily not available on Samsung. ETR not given.
Really want to get the HD TV w/out commercials on the TV. -
"Fine picture and sound, but no user manual." on by alstanz
Pros: Easy to install. Work great over-the-air. Good sound and picture quality. No service requirements to for first six months.
Cons: No User manual provided with product. Taking advantage of the functionality offered by the product manufacturer is lost unless you understand how to take advantage of the offerings. I would rather pay for a User manual than try to print it at home.
Summary: This product is state of the art with great picture quality and sound. Design is first class and has features and functionality that I have not yet been able to take advantage of because I must get online to reference the User Manual. I have tried to contact Samsung with little success. Not much better visiting their showroom at Columbus Circle in NYC. Personnel are kind but not informed about the product and unable to answer simple questions, much less a complex question. Apparently the Showroom is for Show not for Information Intelligence.
