"Must have for gamers"
on by osideplayerPros AUX- out, Compatible w/ external hard drive, DVI/HDMI out, and did I mention it plays full 1080p from your hard drive? Look at first I was effy reading these reviews, but after purchasing this product i'm in shock with its abilities.
Cons Viewing angles are not great. Standard mode can have its mind of its own automatically tuning your picture. Also set up is a little annoying.
Summary So in response to the "blotchy picture" people the reason you aren't getting a crisp picture is because you aren't displaying a 1080p signal. Even the manual offers suggestions for ghosting and non-HD sources. This is common with every other HDTV I've had displaying a weak or non HD signal. Also there's a firmware update which was recently released. This might help you out. Bottom line this is exactly what I expect from a modern day television set. I absolutely admire Samsung's innovation in incorporating monitor features to mainstream televisions. This is not my first HDTV either. I've had a Vizio, L.G. and sharp. I'm no beginner to the modern television set. I felt compelled to write this review because the ones above do not do it justice. This T.V. is not for your ordinary couch potatoes its deliberately made for enthusiast who know what they are doing. When you take the next step to Led there is definitely no going back.

"Blotchy Picture."

Cons Very Poor Control of the light bleed. Blotchy white spots spread all over the screen
Summary I had the same problem as rylicious with the blotchy picture. All LCD or LED tv's have some degree of light bleed from the corners of the screen, but with this set it was all over the screen and it was very evident with dark scenes. I was not impressed with the picture quality for being an LED TV. I agree with rylicious why spend your hard earned dollars for a TV that fails to keep a tight lid on the light bleed in dark scenes. I first bought the Samsung ln40c530 on sale at target for 674 dollars( which i give 5 out of 5 stars) and exchanged it for this LED TV expecting it to be significantly better. i ended up turning it back in for my first purchase the Samsung LN40C530. Right out of the box the Samsung LN40C530 picture quality was stunning with excellent control of the light bleed.

"I love the TV!"
on by sjbondwaterPros I find the picture great and I have not experienced any "blotching" in blacks as some of the other reviewers complained about.
Cons This is my first flat screen TV, so I have nothing to compare it to but my old clunker of a TV which I had for 20 years before it finally blitzed out, giving me the excuse for spending too much money! Sorry I cannot comment on technical aspects.

"Excellent TV"
on by DaedHead8Pros -Amazing picture
-4 HDMI ports
-Good SoundCons There is nothing about this TV I don't love.
Summary This is more or less a response to the review "Blotchy Picture"
I too have the blotchy picture problem, but it is literally only when the whole screen is black, such as when you are on an input channel that is not receiving a signal. I have not once noticed this problem during normal use and in the week or so I've owned the TV I've played a number of different video games on the Wii and Xbox 360 and I've also watched quite a bit of documentaries dealing with space. There were lots of moments with a mostly dark screen and I didn't notice any blotching at all.
This is the first HDTV I've ever owned and I'm in love. Once I got the settings right, the picture is phenomenal. The sound is very good too, considering how small the speakers are. Aesthetically the unit is very pleasing as well, it is by far the skinniest TV I've seen in person and when I first finished setting it up, I didn't even turn it on right away, I just wanted to look at it.
So in conclusion, you should at the very least include this TV on your list of options to consider. It is a great buy for the price and I can't see why anyone would be unhappy with it.
