Pros Samsung SmartHub, Picture, Abilty to Calibrate picture, 4 HDMI connections
Cons Speakers cannot handle a lot of bass, Some of the AutoMotion settings are useless, Internet connection drops sometimes
Summary Overall, I am very happy with the television. The picture is fantastic for an LED TV. My previous TV was a plasma, so the picture is not quite as sharp and I am still getting used to the brightness of the LED. The trade-offs of no burn-in and better durability (I have lost 2 plasmas to flying toddler toys) far outweigh the difference in picture quality.
The sound is very good, although the speakers cannot handle a lot of bass if you have the equalizer set to maximize lower levels. I also found the AutoMotion features annoying and turned them all off (produces what is known as the "Soap Opera Effect"). The TV has tons of calibration settings, however, so it is easy to tweak the picture to get it where you want it (there are very good calibration settings available on the web).
The Samsung SmartHub adds a lot of value to this TV for me. I prefer the built-in channel guide to that of my cable box. The search function also pulls together several services (Netflix, VUDU, etc.). The apps themselves function very well although it sometimes takes a while for the initial load. The SmartHub easily outshines the VIERA internet tools from Panasonic.
Two final notes: First, the remote is cool ,but a little weird.
It has a touch pad instead of buttons. There is a learning curve here. It takes too many steps to get the remote to pause my DVR. After a month, some folks in the house are still uncomfortable using it. It does have voice commands, but i have not gotten the hang of those yet.
Finally, I suggest to check it's best price at: Ledhdtvpicking.blogspot.com/p/samsung-un50f6400.html
I hope it helps, good luck!
