"Samsung falls short"
on by loot42Pros Slim design
Cons Black eats details, low contrast, bad colors, very expensive
Summary Black levels are horrible, colors look incredibly bad with no contrast what so ever. Also, this TV is very reflective, to the point where you can see yourself more than what you are trying to watch on TV.

"Very dissapointed"
on by dj_dk123Pros It is very thin
Cons It performs very bad when being used in a dark room. When watching a dark scene it is like a flashlight is shined on each corned from behind - very distracting when watching a movie. I have had the unit serviced by Samsung 3 times and nothing helps
Summary I will strongly recommend staying away from this TV, both because of its horrible problem with backlight, and also because of samsung totally refusing to stand behind their product when you contact their support. I have complained about the TV to Samsung but they are not willing to help me, they just say they will call me back next day and of cause they never do. When I then call them back I have to start all over with a new person. This story have repeated itself for the last 3 months with them and I have finally given up.
I also tried to submit a review on samsung.com, but they will not accept my review because I rated the TV poor, which of cause makes you wonder how many other negative reviews they have rejected? Amazing. -
"Great picture worth the money"
on by mjsimp18Pros Picture quality, ease of connections, super slim looks great when hanging on the wall.
Cons not really a con, but had a surround sound unit with a built in dvd player that used an s-video cable, tv has 4 hdmi and component hook ups, no s video.
Summary I upgraded from a samsung dlp so I could hang a tv on the wall, I was blown away by the quality of the picture with 120hz the picture looks like ou are looking through a window. Totally amazing, we are having it calibrated next month and supposed to make the picture better if that is possible. I had to upgrade my surround sound also and since this is a tv that we used in the living room (not our main tv) I got the samsung ht-bd3252 blue ray player, mainly because it has 2 hdmi in and 1 out so I could hook everything up and for 750 the sound is excellant. I have had the tv for about 10 days and have experienced no issues of black spots in the corners like some others have comented on. I would definately recommend this tv.

"Great Color, Very Thin, small issues."
on by gadgetguy681Pros Vivid Colors, Excellent clarity with 1080p source material, Dejudder and smoothness adjustments, Lan connectivity, Anynet, Yahoo Widgets, and more.
Cons Price, faded white characters on black screen, blooming in corners when screen is dark. Yahoo widgets is kinda slow.
Summary I've had this set for three and a half months now and I must say, it's awesome! I also purchased a Samsung Blu-ray player and surround sound at the same time and this set displays an absolutely awesome picture, especially with a 1080p source. The colors, clarity, and definition are stunning. It's amazing that you can see the pores on somones face or the fine little loops in fabric of a towel. Truly lifelike at times.
I like the LAN connectivity as well. You can upgrade the firmware very easily. I had to adjust the dejudder and smoothness as stated in the article and that really created a stunning picture with 1080p. The picture almost looked too lifelike (if that's possible) before adjusting. It didn't look like a movie, more like I was looking through a window. I'm so glad the NFL season has started. Also, if you purchase a Samsung Blu-ray player you'll get the use of Anynet which allows you to control the tv and blu-ray/surround sound with one remote, without programming. If you pop in a Blu-ray, the tv automaticlally changes the source to the Blu-ray. Amazing what little things make me happy!
Now for the Cons. These are very minimal things but definitely need addressed. I've noticed when watching a movie when the screen is very dark, almost completely black, there is light blooming in from the corners. Also, when there is a commercial or a program that shows only white text on the black screen, the white fades out quite a bit. It's bright enough to read but not as bright as I'd ideally think it should be. Also, Yahoo widgets loads kind of slow. I have a 6MB DSL connection so I know it's not the internet. Other than that, this set is awesome.
If you're reading these reviews wondering if you should buy this tv, stop right now and start shopping. I purchased mine online and haggled with the salesperson to get the best price anywhere. Good luck and you'll be happy. -
"The lighting in the corners will drive you crazy!"
on by Zoolander03Pros Clear picture but makes you want to invest in the 240 vice the 120!
Cons The lighting in the corners when watching movies in a dark room will drive you crazy!
Summary This is my first samsung ( only owned it for 24 hours) and I cant tell you how long I have waited to own one! I bought it from costco (Series 6, 6050) was renamed for marketing purposes but it's the same as all the other ones. I was really let down by the damn flashlight effect coming out of the corners when watching dark scenes in a dark room. It WILL drive you crazy. I am told that this is a running issues with EDGE LIT led tv's. There is no fix so dont call Samsung, if you cant live with it, take it BACK. I don't care if my tv is thin, I just want uniformed quality. I will be talking mine back (paid 1499.00) and getting a plasma which will run me about 400.00 less.
