  • "Best LCD tv I have ever seen."
    4.5 stars

    Pros: Inky blacks.
    Stunning Color.
    Great Design.
    Lots of video tweaking options.

    Cons: Glossy screen relects everything.

Summary: This is the nicest LCD tv I have ever seen. I recently purchased this tv and have been very impressed with it. The blacks are incredible and the colors are lifelike. The think design is impressive but the picture quality is what really takes the cake. One warning. This tv is VERY reflective. If you have windows that face your tv you need to make sure you can block out any light coming in or you will see reflections that can be distracting. Overall though a real winner and the best LCD to date.

Just wanted to provide an update after owning this set for 4+ months. I am still impressed with this set on a daily basis. It has performed flawlessly and everyone who comes over is blown away. I did have what others referred to as "crop circles" but Samsung customer support responded back to my email and provided a firmware update to fix the issue. Great experience for me with their customer service. I must say that the reflective screen is not as big of an issue as I initially thought in my review. It struck me as very reflective because I came from a matte screen LCD prior to this one. After using this daily in a room with lots of windows I can say the reflection is not an issue 95% of the time. I don't think it's anymore reflective than the other non-matte Samsung tv's. Overall I still HIGHLY recommend this set if you can afford it!

    juici1,
I can back you up on the poor Sumsung customer service. I had the same experience with a brand new side-by-side Samsung refrigerator. We paid close to $2,000.00 for this thing and we can't keep any dairy items in it. The fridge never gets cooler than 38 degrees and averages 41 degrees even though the digital read out says it is 34 degrees. After haggling with Samsung for weeks they finally sent a technician out and he wrote it off as functioning as designed. We brought it to his attention that we have 2 of these. The one at our rental property next door works perfectly. There was a laundry list of other problems with this unit. The other major issue was the ice maker. It cycles faster than the ice freezes. The half frozen ice/water dumps into the ice bin & hangs up the ice maker every day. If we leave for the weekend & come back there will be a solid chunk of ice in the ice bin and you have to remove it & chip it out with an ice pick. Samsung won't even return our phone calls.

It is no more reflective than most other Samsung sets. and only reflects light hitting the screen directly such as sunlight from an opposite or side window, or a lamp. keep this in mind when choosing placement. Also to put things into perspective, ALL sets reflect ambient light, or wash out in direct light. Some just do better than others. If you can walk into a well lit showroom with flood lighting like a Best Buy or Sears, then you will know how well or bad the set reflects. Most homes don't have near the lighting that stores do. In fact, in most cases you will need to immediately turn down the contrast and brightness settings on the set. just my 2 cents lol......

Is this screen more reflective than the already reflective lesser Samsung LCD's/LED's?
