"Bright colors, feature rich, needs more inputs"
2.0 starson by G1187Pros: Was a standout to my eye in the store. Beautful colors, bright whites, deep blacks. Sleek design. Plays a neat little tone when powered off. Easy to use interface.
Cons: Plasticky looking picture quality. Light leakage from corners in dark room. Needs another set of component inputs
Summary: I purchased the UN55C6400 from Costco. I upgraded from a 62" Toshiba DLP rear projector which I though had a great picture. After hours of staring at all the different sets and reading countless reviews I decided to bring this one home. The first issue with this one for me is the set doesn't have enough component inputs. Nor does it have a composite input. No port to connect my Wi. This alone is a show stopper as Comcast was unable to supply me with an HDMI style cable box..
Picture quality is a mixed bag. The colors are nice but everything has an artificial look to it. Everything from Blu Ray to HD network broadcast has the same look. It's sharp and crisp but not warm or cinematic. The biggest issue for me was its ability to create deep black. In a normally lit room black looks fine however in a darkened room the screen leaks light from the edges. And that is something I couldn't adjust to my satisfaction.
Sound quality is decent but what can you expect from a TV that's only an inch thick? I run my sound through a home theatre system. The remote is very straighforward and simple to use even in the dark.
If you're looking for a good looking LED-LCD TV you can hang on the wall and are not that critcal of the issues I see, than go for it. It's a little more expensive than the Visio, Sharp, and Sony. But you'll probably love it.
I saw a couple of these units running at the local Circuit City. They were "out of box" returns that had been on display for over eight months which means they have been on all day, every day and still looked as good as a brand new one.
If you're a techie and expect perfection this won't cut it. The technology isn't quite there yet.

You may want to check back with Comcast about a new box. Perhaps they have HDMI boxes now. If you use a receiver for sound, the best way to go is with a receiver with multiple HDMI inputs and one output. That way, you can plug all your components into the receiver, whether they be component, composite, or HDMI, and run only one HDMI cable to the TV. All video switching is done through the receiver. Works great. As far as picture goes, explore all of the picture settings and especially advanced settings on this TV. You can definitely get a warm, cinematic look to things. You just have to make the proper adjustments. There's even a separate setting to make blacks darker. You can increase edge detail and up the sharpness to bring out more detail in the image. For the light leakage from the corners, I've read to use a microfiber cloth and gently rub the screen in the problem areas. Hope all that helps you enjoy your TV more!
