"Amazing TV....if you're sitting directly in the middle."2.5 starson by benchmarker
Pros: Amazing Picture (see cons), Slim and sexy, Thin bezel, internet connectible (for firmware), network connectible (for streaming videos and images)
Cons: This TV only has one con, but it's a pretty big one. You probably won't see it in the store because they put bright vivid images on screen for demos. Dark scenes are HORRIBLE if viewing from an angle. The picture simply gets washed out.
Summary: This TV produces a picture that rivals all other TV's I've seen - as long as I stand/sit directly in the center. This TV has a horribly narrow range side-to-side. If you have company over or even have a family of four or more, the people viewing at an angle will get robbed of the beautiful image the people directly in front will get to see. WARNING - you will most likely NOT see this in a store because the store shows bright and vivid demos which makes it harder to see the faults. If possible, view this TV in a darker room and ask to see a darker demo. Then, and only then, will you really see how badly contrast and colors wash out from angle views. Blacks turn gray and colors lose saturation. What it looks like is that someone cranks up the gamma more and more the further you get away from dead center. You'll fall in love with this TV from straight on but from an angle, you'll be sadly disappointed. We watched Pixar's "Up" and Warner Bros "Dark Knight". We have an "L" configuration with our couch and love seat. Couch is facing the TV, and love seat perpendicular. Whoever got the love seat couldn't believe how bad the picture was. Even walking into the room (from the left side of the TV) people would say "What's wrong with the TV". If you have a setup where people will never have to view at an angle, this TV looks absolutely amazing. But be warned, this TV really does start to look bad from an angle greater than about 20° off-center and only gets worse the further you go - especially dark scenes.
