Although CNET did not review the 42-inch Sharp LC-42D43U, we did review the 32-inch Sharp LC-32D43U. The two TVs are essentially identical but for screen size, so we expect the picture quality of the 32-inch model to provide a good indication of how the 42-incher will perform.
