CNET Editors' Take

CNET did not review the Sharp LC-42D43U, but we did review a smaller model in the series.

Review: Although CNET did not review the 42-inch Sharp LC-42D43U, we did review the 32-inch Sharp LC-32D43U. The two TVs are essentially identical but for screen size, so we expect the picture quality of the 32-inch model to provide a good indication of how the 42-incher will perform. For more information, refer to the full review of the Sharp LC-32D43U. For additional details on Sharp's lineup of LCD-based HDTVs, see our roundup.

Cons: Stock speakers are satisfactory

Summary: Tv looks gorgeous just standing. Picture quality is top notch. All channels in 108i/720p come in top notch. However, I was disappointed with the sound. The bass adjustment makes the speakers knock. Enabling the surround feature degrades the sound quality further. TV does have the dimming feature, if you ... Expand full review
