"Buy a Sharp LCD TV! Plasma..hm.m.. not so much.."
Pros: Very well written user friendly owner's manual, set up was easy, plenty of options for fine tuning all viewing parameters, beautiful picture, good sound!
Cons: Some channels require color re-tuning.
Summary: I did a LOT of research. LCD clearly showed many advantages over plasma. Sharp is the LCD TV leader so it made sense to buy their product. One key advantage for the Sharp LCD TV is the backlight bulbs can be changed by the owner. Prospective buyers should pay attention to this factor while doing your research. The picture, sound, ease of set up, user's manual, etc., is first rate! Just buy it from someone other than Abe's of Maine. Their customer service is POOR. Don't be taken in by price alone.
