"Expensive, lackluster performace is about it."
Pros: 1080p Capibility, Tell friends you spent 7k on a tv
Cons: you spent 7k on a tv that doesnt hold up
Summary: The Sharp LC45gd4u is one of the most lackluster performers to date. As an audio/video sales associate i have seen this thing first hand for months now, and....it sucks, i cant sell it because for 1000 dollars less you can get a plasma with brilliant color and a larger size, i mean good god if it isnt the murkiest picture ive ever seen, it looks like a really bad water painting, my associates and i cant sell the thing worth a damn. Sharp supposidly has released a software upgrade that should help remedy this problem, but for 7k, it should look damn near perfrect right out of the box.

I agree. The early sets made with the 1920 panel sucked. It was hard to believe a panel with that high of a resolution looked that bad. The software mod made a big difference, but Sharp's reluctance to "make it right" with previous owners speaks volumes about the Company. I would stay away for that reason alone; unless your believe in Caveat Emptor, in which case your should run right out and buy one. It is beyond belief that the management of Sharp forced the Engineering and QC people to let it out the door. Makes you wonder how they can look in a mirror..

No wonder you are mad...you spent AT LEAST 2 grand more than you should of at the time the tv first came out. Considering that I got the tv for a little more than 3 grand, I feel like a winner....
