CNET Editors' Take

CNET did not review the Sharp AQUOS LC-46D65U, but we did review a larger model in the same series.

Review:

Although CNET did not review the 46-inch Sharp AQUOS LC-46D65U, we did review the 52-inch Sharp Aquos LC-52D65U. Judging from their spec sheets, the two Sharp flat-panel LCDs are basically identical but for screen size, so we expect the review of the 52-incher to give a good indication of how the 46-inch model will perform. For more information, refer to the full review of the Sharp Aquos LC-52D65U.

"Beautiful LCD HDTV! Best value for price!!" By Sharpee69

Pros: Great picture and excellent sound quality from 15W speakers. According to the CNET review of the D85U model with the faster 120hz refresh rate, there was no discernible real-life difference in blurriness between the 65 and 85 models. Save your money!

Cons: Haven't had any problems so far, including the bugaboo of banding. Side angle viewing is excellent and the color tone etc is easily manipulated with an on-screen menu. What's not to like??

Summary: Buy this TV and the companion Sharp blu-ray player (BDHP21) when they go on sale and you can't go wrong. Excellent value for the money! Your DVDs will upconvert to almost blu-ray quality and the more expensive blu-rays will be crystal clear at closer range. The big issue with ... Expand full review
