"Amazing TV"on by cmichel04
Pros Perfect TV; colors more realistic than any other LED TV; no clouds and almost perfect out of the box.
Cons Some video processing options may introduce flickering. In my case, I had to disable Film Mode (set it to Off)
Summary I did a lot of research and decided to go for Sharp LE810, image quality is amazing, fairly priced, very thin, 120 HZ enhanced. The TV is light weight, and energy efficient.
The LED is edge, not full LED, but with the yellow color added, it really makes the colors evenly lit up and not dark in the center like some other edge lit LED TV's.
Comparing with Sony or Samsung LED, this TV has more realistic colors, and also because of the added yellow pixel it display better colors like skin colors, gold - very difficult to display properly by other TVs.
Sharp's Quattron design works very well with a wide variety of programming. Even though it's extending the range of colours beyond standard TV, the effect never looked artificial. Quite the opposite: I was continually impressed with the range of colours and tones I saw on the screen.
Firmware updates are easy to do from the menu and they improve picture quality.
"Sharp le810"on by dp3dp
Pros Slim design, automatic firmware updates
Cons Color reproduction is not accurate, not a true 120hz
Summary I had this tv for about 45 days and returned it. While this is a good tv, color reproduction is off, and certain colors are widley oversaturated. This tv also had huge issues with clouding and flashlighting I returned the first set only to have that same amount in different locations on the second. Additionally, this tv is not currently 120hz Sharp will be putting out a firmware update to address this, as of 6 july no update to address this. Overall I was not happy with this tv for the price, a vizio that replaced it was more impressive being almost 1k cheaper.
Pros The color is excellent and clear.
Cons I have to chose the store displace mode instead of the home displace mode to get execllent picture.
Summary That will be good if they made 3D models.
Pros nice picture
easy setup, easy to use
good input selection/variety
interacted well with universal remotes, Sony Blu Ray
Cons died an early death
shiny screen -- reflects light like a plasma TV
connections hard to reach when TV mounted on wall
touch pad on/off and volume buttons unreliable
Summary 13 days after the Aquos 3 month extended warranty ran out, the TV won't turn on and the Sharp repair center says it's a total loss -- the screen is toast. 15 months (plus 13 days) out of the box.
Pros The build and image quality are great.
Cons Sharp's service is not great.
Summary I ordered a refurbished LC60LE810UN.
After 4 months of using the TV (the warranty, of course, is only 3 months), it wouldn't turn on and I got a blinking error light. Called a TV repair place, they said "That's a panel issue. Sharp is pretty cool about this stuff, I bet they'll extend your warranty a month and replace it for free". He called Sharp for me and that's exactly what they said they'd do - come out and replace the TV for free!
I called Sharp with my new warranty-replacement case number to schedule the appointment, and they said "You're out of warranty, sorry", despite just telling us that they'd replace it for free. Now they tell me it's $505 to replace it and I have no other options, as it is not an orderable/repairable part.
I'll never buy another product from Sharp again.
