"The king is dead. Long live the king."
4.5 starson by KUROchuckyPros: better than kuro black levels
better than kuro sharpness
better than kuro clarityCons: price (although you can always negotiate around this problem)
some DSE (albeit less than my kuro)
still waiting on the promised update to fix the slight color issueSummary: As a long-time Kuro owner (151), happy to have finally found a set that not only meets but beats the PQ of my old kuro at a larger size. I've sat in a room with both sets side by side. The new elite walks away from the kuro pretty quickly. The new elite has better black levels, clarity, and sharpness. The kuro looks muddled in comparison.

@Extreme22, I have a hard time believing that you have both sets. If you actually did, you could not possibly say that this doesn't hold a candle to the Kuro.
I own both sets. The ONLY two areas in which the Kuro outperforms this set are off-angle viewing and color accuracy. With the firmware update coming soon, this set will match or exceed the Kuro in color accuracy, and it already surpasses it in color saturation, which in my opinion is more important than color accuracy anyway. I'll go with better saturated colors over more accurate colors every time!
Even though I'll give the nod to the Kuro for off-angle viewing, this set does have outstanding off-angle viewing for an LCD. The black level remains vastly superior to that of the Kuro unless you get to the extreme angles. You can sit pretty far off center and still witness a black level that far surpasses the Kuro.
If your whites are off and there is grey in the letter-box bars with 16:9, your calibration is poor. -
Im sorry but this tv does not hold a candle to the kuro
i have both sets and my kuro still wins hands down,
i had 30 days to try out the elite but still love my kuro
off or side viewing has issues whites has issues and blacks when in 16.9 has a touch of grey, green is off so this might be a fix but with this caliber of tv there should be no issues at all
