"pretty good deal at costco" on by paddy701
Pros: decent performance on hd and standard analog channels
Cons: no previous channel button on remote, sound just ok
Summary: Model LC26SH12U ,same unit minus the dvd player.
When it is all said and done I will get this tv for 500 bucks after the coupon kicks in later next week at Costco . That is the bottom line for me.I tried the 27" Olevia at CC and it did a poor job at tuning hd channels off the cable. That is what I need this bedroom tv to do,no cable box. It does a good job with that and the colors ,brightness and sound is just ok.
Costco offers the free 2 year in house warrenty and the price is to good to pass up.
A Sony of the same size would be easily over 450 dollars more. The 90 day return policy is unbeatable as well.
Overall this set has limitations but for a small room, bedroom, workout tv , it is a great deal for the money. -
"Returning to Costco" on by delmartian
Pros: Picture okay with rca inputs
Cons: hdmi connection incompatible with catv boxes
Summary: I bought this at costco tv thinking it was a good buy and reliable. Well 3 cable boxes and two sets of hdmi wires later I found out from Sharp customer service that their tv's are incompatible with some catv boxes. That's news to me. I did a google and cnet search and could not find anything on this incompatibility. Well i am returning it to Costco...thank God for their reasonable return policy!

"Good picture, poor sound and connectivity. DVD a plus." on by jtaaustex
Pros: Decent picture.
Cons: Internal sound inadequate--have to turn it up to max to have a hope of hearing some digital stations in all but optimal situations.
Summary: Picture is fine when you are receiving a decent signal, but sound volume from digital broadcasts is pitiful. Worse, the connections for external audio are limited to one digital coax output--usable for a $250+ surround sound system, but I just want a powered external speaker so I can hear the darn thing. Hey, Sharp, how about throwing in some RCA audio jacks, or a mini RCA plug for use with a computer sound system? If you are looking to put together a 26" home theater (here I ask, why?) then it will work fine, but if you want a free-standing TV and don't want to strain to hear it, I suggest you look elsewhere.

"Stylish, compact HDTV has some limitations." on by mossmiller
Pros: Very good HD picture when viewer is directly in front of TV
Cons: No analog audio outputs, picture fades markedly when viewed from angle.
Summary: Mine is the Costco unit without built-in DVD. Excellent HD picture with built-in ATSC tuner. Very good upconvert DVD picture with Denon player using HDMI. Unit good for small spaces. However, sound can be weak on digital TV stations, and there is no analog audio output. Because of this, we use a second HD tuner to output audio to our Altec PC speakers, which gives us good sound for HD-broadcast movies. Finally, if you sit to the side of the unit, color intensity and picture contrast fall off rapidly, which can be annoying. Our other unit is an older 26" Mintek, which has none of these problems.
