Pros Read Cons - PICTURE GREAT STRAIGHT ON
Cons Terrible viewing angle
Summary Had older model 37d40u to base comparsion. Ordered 37d90u when it became avaiable online. And from there it was downhill.
37d90u does have a awesome picture! WAIT! Only if you watch it dead on (straight). That is the sweet spot straight on. Move 3-4 feet left or right off center and you will see the picture degrades badly (washes out). So if you have guests over watching TV I can assure you they will tell you how bad the picture wash is if they sit more then 40 degrees off center. Specs state 176 degree viewing angle, no where NEAR that. Terrible. Tried adjustments, used DVE also and nothing helps the wash or viewing angle. Had the older model Sharp 37d40u and the viewing angle on that was as advertised, 176 viewing angle and no problem at all.
Called Sharp, they agree and are dispatching a tech. Downside they are taking the set out of the house to check it out. NOT GOOD! This tier 1 panel has a design flaw and Sharp does not as of this writing want to admit that.
To those who are interested in this model ( 37d90u) please wait to see what Sharp does to repair the viewing angle, it is bad. They most likely will have to have a revision model (B1, etc) no doubt in my mind.

Pros Great HD & HDMI piture
Cons Need HD cable to get good TV
Summary I got my 37D90U, it came out of the Box, and blew my mind, this thing looks amazing, very money !!.
So I got it all hooked up, it's a bit dizzying with the manual, and all the menus, and set up choices, but after 2 hours, I think I got it down pretty good, to make the picture look good. I had Digital cable, and hooking the TV up to it, really looked like crap. I had the picture looking as well as I could but I had to order HD cable, The HD Cable looks way better, just a pain and more $$.
On to Movies, I also bought a Oppo DV-970HD DVD player, Amazing for the price, with an HDMI cable included, Connected to the TV via the HDMI and with 1080, My DVD's Looked amazing, It was what I was hopping for in a HDTV, I'm still considering getting it professionally calibrated. but I think I got it looking very good.
I got a pretty good deal on the price, a bit expensive, but the 37 inch is perfect, and doesn't look like it takes over the living room. Get a extended warranty with it, just to protect yourself, ya never know what kind of stuff can happen to these things. Till next time.
Pros Produces a really nice image
Cons Wide angle isn't quite as good as my XBR960 was
Summary 37" inches is about right for our small viewing area. We don't really care for large tv's taking over the room.
Generally, the Sharp performs really well. I would say that it does wide angle well out to about 120 degrees which is fine for our viewing positions. Even peaking around at the tube from the side, it is viewable, just slightly lighter.
Every once in awhile when I watch a standard def station with lousy reception, the tv picks up a little pixelation. Turning down the brightness to -10 evens things out a bit.
My wife likes to remodel the house and now it isn't a pain to move my 62 lb. Sharp flat panel.

Pros Super clear, clean, fast, color great, super details
Cons Off center color just flat out sucks
Summary I got it two nights ago. My living room is very bright and an LCD is necessary, as well, I wanted to prepare for onslaught of 1080P blueray discs. Picture is perfect, no complaints there. Color is near perfect - but only when viewed straight on. The white out/color fade is very noticeable from off center, starting at about 60 degrees either side! im disapointed with that flaw in this Tier1 panel. I'm not sure if i got a bad panel. All in all, a great panel. I may be oversensitive to the color, and the fact is, I watch my movies from directly in front.
Pros Handsome design, high rezolution, good color rendition, plentiful hook-ups
Cons Somewhat limited viewing angle
Summary This is a great LCD TV. Please ingore posters who give it low marks because of narrow(er) viewing angle. This trait is common to all LCD sets while plazmas don't generaly go below 42". FWIW, the viewing angle is not bad and is far outweighed, IMO, by great image quality, handsome set design and plentiful connections in the back.
