"Im satisfied to an extent with this LCD. read pros/cons" on by mikemihai89

Pros: 120HZ - Good for movies and other fast motion viewing (NOT GOOD FOR VIDEOGAMES) read cons.

Great color, darks, brightness, sharpness, and other features to reduce blurr and enhance contranst.

    Many different connections.

    Power saving.

Cons: The 120HZ. tech. must be turned off to play certain games.
As the action looks blurr free, there is some lag to the input of games like halo. (read details)

    Problems with sound. (read details)

The TV box says its an Aquos? Or is it a lie?

Summary: Lets start with the 120HZ, while its great for movies and HD channels, football and whatnot... the feature is actually horrible for fast input games.

With the 120 Hz turned OFF performance is much better in Halo3 and other fast paced games. When the 120Hz is turned on there is some imput lag. As an example when moving the crosshairs on halo, it will take a short split second for the input on the xbox controller to register on the tv screen. This is due because 120HZ tech will take the normal 60HZ signal coming from the xbox then upconvert it, and meanwhile losing a precious half a second in real time, which means about half a second screen lag from the time a button is pressed, to the time the desired action from that button actually takes place. Well let me tell you it can GREATLY alter gameplay. I noticed with the 120 hz turned off, screen response from input on xbox to actual motion on screen is much faster, very, very, little lag, but still noticeable to me tho =/

My 2nd big issue with this tv is the sound. And by that I do not mean that the small hidden speakers just simply lack quality, the real problem is that sometimes they just do not want to work.

This problem occurs very randomly and is easily fixable. Here's how it starts. Upon turning on the tv every now and then, you will notice no sound coming out the speakers whatsoever (no the tv is not muted, and yes the volume is up). To fix this, all you have to do is, while the tv is on, go ahead and unplug the power cord for 2 seconds and then plug it back in. Tv should just turn back on by itself and with the audio working this time. Yes its very annoying when you have to do this when for $1500 the tv should not be doing this, but what can you do? It does not happen all the time so its ok as long as it will not completely fail.

I hope this review helps those who plan to do some serious gaming, as this is still a good screen to consider, there are some things a gamer will not need, such as the 120 hertz tech and other color correction type features which might cause screen lag and also drive the price of the tv higher as there are more features. Gamers should consider basic 60HZ tech displays with fatser milliseconds response time, This model has 6ms, but anything under that will be better and cause less ghosting and blurring or screen lag during games like halo3. Consider to buy a screen with 4ms or better response time for the least amount of lag. The smaller the ms time the better the response rate, the lesser the lag. 2ms is perfect for me on halo3 I cannot notice any lag whatsoever on that type of screen.

One more thing I forgot to add, is that this tv is advertised as a Sharp Aquos in store, and it also says its a Sharp Aquos on the box it comes in, but is it really, because I have not seen the Aquos label on the screen itself like its shown on all other Aquos models I know of. Very strange if you ask me....

I forgot to add the remote control on this TV is not very responsive, but it is not too bad either. Unlike some Tv's which i happen to own, I can point the remote total opposite way from which the tv is pointing and it will still work flawlessly, but with this Sharp the remote needs to be facing the Tv, and aimed in a somewhat fair direction to the IR receiver for it to work.
The TV stand is very, very sturdy, deserves 5 stars on safety, only problem is that it does not rotate left to right, as for tilting im not sure if any large TV's can tilt the screens otherwise they might tople over.... wouldnt want that to happen.. so for the stand it deserves 4 and a half stars since its very well built but it will not rotate.
Also no dead or bright pixels on this screen =) for many months now.
If I think of more details to add, then I will post again.
