Summary: I had to return another TV by Insignia because it just was horrible. I hemmed and hawed about the bump in price but eventually dove in head first. Well, boy am I glad I did. The picture quality is just outstanding via HDMI cable, HD Cable Box etc. Even my PS3 looks amazing compared to other HD LCD TV's I have in my house. This was the perfect size and choice for my bedroom and it could easily work in smallish rooms as well with no problem. The viewing angles are good, I can walk around my bedroom doing things and can see the picture perfectly. My first errany purchase could not. It's worth the little extra, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Got this 26 inch on sale for $799 after returning Insignia and Samsung cause of dissatisfaction with picture quality. The Insignia was purchased on sale at half the price, was alright for what it was, but many minor picture problems, so its hard to compare fairly. The Samsung was a good set, but represented dark black areas as glowing blue which was distracting esp when watching old B/W shows. This Sony has near perfect picture even on Standard Def NTSC and the HD is fantastic. Picks up many digital and HD channels right from basic comcast cable with no box. Its a lot of money for a small set, but I think in the long run it will be worth it.

Pros: Excellent picture resolution! I am able to view my local digital & HDTV programming with either a HDMI component cable connected to my Time Warner Cable DVR-HD cable box or a HD component cable. Better resolution than VIZIO or other major brands
Cons: I like this TV & I would recommend it to people who go to walmart & return VIZIO TV sets
