"Awesome TV! Great picture but..." on by anjayp
Pros: Great Picture!
1080p is a plus for those of us using it as a computer monitor!
120hz and motionflow help a lot for sports!
Nice black finish.Cons: Takes literally 18 seconds (timed) to turn on.
Takes a while to cycle through inputs if you don't use the original remote.
Bottom silver line looks kind of cheap.
No swivel stand.
Only one HDMI on the back.
VGA input on the side.Summary: A few annoying inconveniences but the picture quality makes up for any flaws it has. Best matte finish 32" hdtv available imho.

"Great picture! Almost as good as my Panasonic plasma TV" on by shaif
Pros: Plenty of inputs (for my needs), very good picture, very little pixelation when one watches very fast moving objects, handsome (though it sits in my bedroom, so who cares)
Cons: Menus are not very intuitive, manual is very very skimpy, when it comes to adjustment of settings, details in blacks are hard to see, when there is a bright light on a subject (though all LCDs have difficult time with blacks)
Summary: excellent value (bought at $709), when one consider the high end features that this TV has. When i compared it to a cheaper 37" Vizio, and more expensive 32" LG and Samsung, all with 120hz overscanning technology to eleviate motion distortion, the set won hands down. I just hope the set ends up RELIABLE one :)

"Astounding color in an extremelly attractive package." on by regpasha1
Pros: -Spectacular Picture and Audio
-Bravia Sync-communicates with other Sony equipment supporting the Control for HDMI
-Superior Motionflow
-USB Digital Photo and Music Player (great option for those who are into photographyCons: None so far.
Summary: In my opinion, the Sony XBR9 is the best 32" HD set on the market. The "Wow" factor that you find on the large-screen sets, is present in this extremely attractive(piano black exterior) smaller set.
The XBR line is, indeed, the jewel in Sony's crown.
I saw it, side by side, with comparable Samsung and Panasonic sets and there is just no comparison.
For those who can spare the extra change, the Sony 32" XBR is well worth the cost. -
"Audio problems when connected by an HDMI cable." on by Bocabigguy
Pros: Picture is superb. Always crisp and when the audio is working the sound is excellent. Was easy to hook up to my cable box.
Cons: The audio fades out at least once an hour while I am watching. Their customer service is the worst. I upgraded the firmware to no avail. My cable box was also updated. Time to switch to another brand.
Summary: I have other LCD Sony TV's and I have no problem with them. My Sony Blue-ray player is also working perfect, but when you spend $900. for something that does not work it hurts a lot. Way to go Sony.
