"Extremely happy with the TV so far" on by larryjenUS

Pros: Picture quality, HD reproduction, HDMI communication.

    Cons: None so far

Summary: I am quite happy with this television. I previously had a 32 inch CRT that supported 1080i, but wanted to upgrade to a smaller and lighter footprint of a TV as will as 1080p support for my Playstation3. Set-up was easy and it communicates well with my receiver (it should it's a Sony ES 5300). Reception is great with the exception of a number of cable channels that are not really digital (FOX Soccer Channel and Tennis Channel for example). HD channels are coming in great and Blu-Ray is fantastic. I've only had it for two weeks but I consider it a good purchase.

"One of the best 37 inch LCD's out" on by BBY127

Pros: HD and 1080P looks both natural and superb, Non-HD cleaned up well, Sound is excellent

Cons: Cinemotion may have to be turned down

Summary: Sony did a nice job to throw their hat into the ring within the 37-inch category. This XBR set continues the reputation that Sony is one of the elite LCD companies. If you are not running a surround sound system, the XBR6's speakers does a nice job. For new HDTV owners, the menu is very easy to navigate. Also, the XBR6 looks great right out of the box, does need to be tweaked a little, however I'll be having the picture Calibrated in a couple weeks. Hope this helps.

"Very Nice Set" on by Germaniabeanie

Pros: Light weight, East setup, 3 HDMI inputs

    Cons: Panel Edges reflect Sunlight

Summary: This was a replacement for an 37" Plasma that died. The older one reflected sunlight and was like a mirror, so we had to shut shades. This new one has a non reflective screen, however the frame around the set is black plastic and reflects whatever is behind you. We wish it would of had a flat black edge. CNET said it does not have a TV guide built in, however this one does for some reason. It also has the jacks for Sony's new box available soon. We hooked up a DVD player and everything came out pink. After checking and changing cables, we called Sony support, and they said to reset the TV. We did and everything came out perfect. Their is some blurring during fast moving scenes, and when watching regular or HD tv, you get several different size boxes, depending on what is being broadcast. We had the Direct TV box on 1080 and lost some of the broadcast picture, so changed it back to 720 and it worked good and the resolution was better. Their is minimal loss of picture brightness from the sides, but we have a platform who's top turns, so we just turn it. Our original intention was to watch TV without reflection, and the screen works fine, however now must deal with the reflective screen edge. We also have a smaller 26" Sony in the next room, and have noticed that using the remote on one sometimes does the same thing on this new on.
All in all, a fine TV so far for the price. The older Plasma cost 5K, and this one was only $1400.

"Awesome picture and sound quality" on by navila77

Pros: -Stunning picture quality for any digital content, particularly blu-ray
-Great sound for flat TV's standards
-Very nice factory presets for color settings
    -Plenty of inputs
-Nice looking and easy to navigate user interface

    Cons: -Expensive
-Does not "remember" some settings -like volume level- for individual inputs
-Picture in picture does not work for analog video inputs
-Not-So-Good quality for SD content (althgough this one may be argueable given the screen size)
