"Just Super LCD HD TV" on by khaniris
Pros: I tried 3 LG 2 Samsung TVs - this SONY is really great. Contrast 100% marks, Colour scheme 200% marks by me. Outlook 100%. Sound system excellent even without hometheater, Viewing angle excellent. Super on HD Channels, Resolution Excellent. Top LCD
Cons: Controlling Functions are not enough like LG and Samsung You only have few Keys for setting but even then it is great. little dark but can be adjusted. Price is high. Body frame is little big. No Swivel, needs improvement in Viewing angle.
Summary: From all my points/comments I dont dislike this LCD. I tried 3 to 5 other TVs but SONY is SONY no doubt about it. No body makes TV better then SONY. PLasma is good in technologiy but this LCD needs to be experienced and you will see the SUPER Excellent results as its black levels are just like Plasma Tvs but No reflection and excellent brightness.
I was having problem in my Sattelite channels on other TVs but when I watch those channels on this Sony LCD the result is very very good. Its not 100% crystal clear but as compare to other TVs this LCD is giving me better improved picture, quality is much superior than the previous TVs. In previous TVs which I tried my sattelite channels were loosing brightness and colours when I change channels frequently but nothing wrong on this Sony LCD. Face shadows/ images and blur picture for sattelite channels was too much in 42" LG50(1080p) and in other TVs but in this Sony LCD its gone every thing is just fine. I dont dislike any thing about this LCD but Sony needs to really look into the prices as so many people wants to buy Sony but hesitating due to price factor.
Functions are less as compare to LG or samsung but I think these are enough so that user cannot be confused in so many keys and buttons so I feel this is good for a simple user. Size is OK 40" or more excellent. For standard transmission this is the best TV and for HD Transmission this really awesome/wonderful super duper. -
"Superb LCD For My Eyes" on by reggieburris
Pros: This is the best HDTV I've owned, but I only purchased affordable HDTVs and this offers excellent quality for the money.
Cons: Lacks deep blacks and a bit bright at times but easy to deal with.
Summary: I am definitely happy and my faith in Sony is renewed. Seems as though other players had caught with Sony, such as LG, Samsung and Sharp but with this price range, Sony is vying for the lead.

"Bought TV, panel went out in little over a year" on by drewlaxdrums
Pros: It looked great when it worked, black levels were good and blue rays looked great,
Cons: The LCD panel went out on little over a year and Sony will not extend warrantee.
Summary: I have been a Sony customer for over 20 years. Bought a Sony TV and no extended warrenty (239 bucks?) because of my excellent service record with Sony and a little over a year later the whole panel went out. The cost to fix the TV is more than what I paid for it and the offer that Sony was making to help cover costs was still less than what a new TV will cost. I am now out 1250 for the TV 70 bucks for the service call, with nothing more than a dead screen to look at. Unless they are willing to change their stance, I will not ever buy another Sony product, nor will my son or anybody I can convince to do so as well. Which sucks because I have always liked and respected Sony products.

"Very good cheap LCd" on by gdubfosho
Pros: Best picture available for size/price. Contrast ratio says 2500:1 but the black is far more black than most other tv's in the price range and even more black than my 20,000:1 samsung monitor. This TV actually makes my monitor look awful. Has VGA.
Cons: It has a vey cheaply made feel to it. It is VERY plastic feeling, but that doesn't mean anything. It feels like it'd live through being dropped, so that is good.
Summary: I was in the market for a 40" - 50" hdtv. I went in the store thinking I was purchasing a 50" LG Plasma until I started talking to the sales guy. I asked him what else was in the prices range and he said this Sony is actually on sale right now. I said Okay well, I wanted 50" and don't really care about 1080p...... until I saw the picture compared to the LG. It was night and day. This Sony was far superior in all aspects (besides size, obviously). The standard picture is way better and the hi-def looks wonderful. I watched the Knicks vs. the Mavs yesterday, only to find that there are thousands of colors I have been missing! The plasma set was a nicer build quality, with glass and a big shiny bezel, but the picture was faded, very washed out looking. The picture of this Sony is far superior to the offbrand models in it's price range as well. This was by far the best picture on the wall at the store, in the area, the only better pictures were coming from 5000 dollar sets. I am thoroughly happy with it.
