"better than v2500 superb picture quality"4.5 starson by oshehryar
Pros: overall picture quality, sd shows great, excellent glare protection
Cons: menu is not user friendly
Summary: caveat first: I received this TV as a gift so obviously, the value for "money" is infinite! Having said that, when I compare this TV to others at stores, the picture quality stands out. Would I buy this TV with my own money over a V3000 or V2500? Yes, and yes. The V2500 is 1080p but 8 bit processing and there is a discernible difference in watching 480i content. Although the native resolution is 720p, with my 20/20 vision and 9 ft distance from the screen, all I see is a brilliant picture. I have hooked this TV up to a home made HDTV antenna and I receive 5 over the air HD channels in my area. Watching golf on NBC in HD was mind blowing. Even my non golfer neighbors were astounded at the picture quality. Finally, I have a double height ceiling in the living room with LOTs of natural light. However, LCD technology is superb in these light conditions...plus, the anti glare screen makes it really comfortable to watch programming without shutting all blinds first. compare the v2500, v3000 and s3000 side by side at sony's website and you'll see that the s3000 is absolutely better than the v2500 and at 46" you may not get the benefit of full HD that v3000 offers. So for a 46", going with s3000 is probably not a bad idea.
