Pros The box that it's going back into to take it back to the store.
Cons Poor video quality period. You need to understand that you are only getting what you're allowing yourself to pay for. I plan on getting the next level up that includes the 120 Hz refresh. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 400 bucks.
Summary My fiancee and i have been looking forward to this purchase for about a year now. We got it, brought it home, hooked it up and after tweaking every possible (limited) option we could, decided that we were let waaaaaay down. It's going back and we're saving up for the one with some anti-judder and 120HZ refresh.
We have Digital cable +HD service through our cable provider and yes i connected the box to the TV with that uber special and expensive gold plated HDMI cable. While artifacts on the screen may be expected on normal channles, we still see them on the HD channels, especially around lettering and high action sceens. We hooked up a DVD player through the "component in" in the back after trying the RCA first and saw no improvement whatsoever.
ALL IN ALL, i guess i have to be thankful that i didn't order this thing online and that i can take it back to the store. That's going to be a headache and so will moving all my old TV's back as well. This is a huge frustrating disapointment.
Pros Lots of LCD TV for the price.
Cons None yet, soon to come.
Summary I just pre-ordered mine at Circuit City. They are only available on the East coast right now.
Mine is due in 6-9 days. The sales people are way up for this item. Real good specs for the price. If you have an AAA card you can get an 8% off coupon for Circuit City on purchases over $199.00. Mine was out the door (with 8.5% sales tax)for $1603.43.I'll report on it soon.
Fingers crossed, going in blind.
"Average LCD"on by addisonucla
Pros cheapest 46" TV
Cons stripped down sony LCD
Summary I called Sony to have them compare the KDL-46V3000 (older LCD) versus KDL-46S4100 (new). They said that the KDL-46S4100 is the introductory level sony bravia or the stripped down version of the sony lcd. in fact, it does not even have the bravia engine. everywhere is $1599 but like someone mentioned you can get 8% off of circuit city if you are AAA member. but the 8% only applies if it is regular price. but i've down a month of research and no one beats the circuit city prices of any tv's.Updated
circuitcity.com prices change daily. so far i've found the best prices saturday or sundays. and a lot of times the deals only last one day.
